If I had to go to Mars at short notice with 3 Bond movies the DVDs i would rush to get from my collection would be Dr. No, Goldfinger and Octopussy. I would leave Live and Let Die out not because it's not as good as these but because I've seen it so many times over the years!

You know, I keep replaying the first part of the trailer. The first one I watched only had the good part, AKA the first part. Its wierd, they just got rid of it.

Octopussy is definitely one of the best Bond movies. Roger Moore, Maud Adams and Louis Jourdan were fantastic.

I also love the main theme song - "All Time High" by Rita Coolidge.

I honestly cannot fathom y people view Octopussy as being one of the worst Bond movies. Me personally, it's one of my top 11 favorites.

The two things that tarnish Moore's legacey are the fact he grew to old in the part and Moonraker. Some people love Moonraker, I do. However Moonraker is considered by most as the worst Bond film. Fans seem to lampoon More for this film. However after TSWLM the next movie was going to be FYEO but because of the success of TSWLM and movies like the Empire Strikes Back Bond producers rushed out Moonraker, a basic remake of the SWLM but set in space.

Had the producers stuck to the original film order and had Connery not returned to the role in 1983 causing the Bond producers to lure Moore back for Octopussy, Roger would have been considered by most as the best bond ever. Live and Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy were as good if not better then any Connery Bond.

No not necessarily. Many of Connery's Bonds were better than Moore's, and many of Moore's Bonds were better than some of Connery's Bonds.

The producers of James Bond films made a mistake in let Roger Moore to work in the last two movies he did (Octopussy and A View to a Kill). On both Roger Moore look like father of James Bond.

First, I agree. Roger's last movie was going to be FYEO. He informed the producers he would not be returning to the role. However, Sean Connery announced that he was going to do the remake of Thunderball, Never Say Never Again. Cubby wanted to beat Connery at the box office. He did not want a new face to go against Connery. They gave Roger alot of money to return in Octopussy and option for another film. He beat Connery at the box office.

I agree, Roger did get to old for the part. BUT it was largly do to the fact Cubby wanted to beat Connery at the box office. Moore told the producers he would not be returning to the role after FYEO. However Connery decided to return to the role Cubby wanted to beat Connery at the box office and did not want to put an unfamiliar actor on the screen to compete against Connery. He felt Moore was his best shot to win at the box office He gave Moore alot of money to return and won at the box office

Sexxysara, your claim that Moore was to dam ugly for the part is ridiculaus. He was two years older then Connery when he took over the role but he looked ten yers younger. Did you even see DAF Connery needed a girdle and a hair piece to play the role. He looked like a man who had one two many vodka martinies and a whole lot of fish eggs. Moore looked younger and was great looking in LALD. Could you even picture a out of shape Connery snuggling with a 19 year old solitar Moore makes it work.

sexxysara, If Moore had not returned for Octopussy and A view to a Kill, had he retired from the role after For Your Eyes Only, we would not be having this conversation. I think the fact that he did grow old in the part has tarnished his legacy, for some.

Here's how I rate the Bonds:

1)Sean Connery-Excellent

2)George Lazenby-Reasonable

3)Roger Moore-Also excellent and quite possibly the best out of all the six actors

4)Timothy Dalton-Good, but not an ounce of humor in him

5)Pierce Brosnan-Charismatic Bond persona, but his JB movies were mediocre at best

6)Daniel Craig-A huge improvement over the Bond before him
