Every theme WFAA has used since 1984 has that musical signature. That doesn't mean they were all produced by the same company. (WFAA and KHOU together have commissioned twelve news themes with the Spirit theme!)
it is the same theme song. Listen to them again...very closely, it's definitely the same song since 1999. The old one was more jazzy and the newer one is more hard rock with the air guitar, but, the same song all together.

Yes.WFAA uses a theme with the same signature as this one, but their current theme was made by a different company.

Same theme song on News 8 today, however, they really improved it a bit by hardening it and making it more edgy with the air guitar version.

its the same theme but not the same theme song.
plus, their current package is done by 615 music and not stephen arnold as this package shows.
