I was at the Celebrity Center in Hollywood for 2 weeks, it scared the living crap out of me. Every technique they use in the class is a form of psychological brain wash. I got myself out of there so fast you can't imagine. I went there with an open mind, after I see what they were doing to people's head, it's absolutely horrible! It's nothing but a money making cult! They should not be tax free! It's not even a fucking religion!

I am no fan of Tom Cruise or his church, but I cannot discern any fundamental differences between the claims made by Scientology or any of the more established, or should I say accepted religions. There is absolutely no evidence even hinting at the ridiculous claims made by the Christian or Islamic faiths, to the contrary, there is endless evidence contradicting these fairytales.

I'm not defending scientology at all; but I think it's born in us to believe in something rather than nothing. You may consider yourself nothing, but you're not. If you're not "nothing" then there IS "something".

A good starting point for you may be to read The God Delusion by one of the greatest minds alive today, Richard Dawkins. Once you have, get back to me and if you are still not convinced I will give you a list of books that go into much greater detail.
