  • is that an actual LT4 intake, or did you just paint it red? So many try and say they have LT4s, but in reality they only built like 6000+ LT4's. Looks good and sounds sweet!

  • is that an actualy LT4 intake, or did you paint it red?

  • the sound of Heaven....awesome

  • With LT1's, detonation is handled by the computer (Knock Module/Sensor) retarding the timing when it senses a knock and loud exhaust, noisey valvetrain, or anything else that sounds like detonation will falsely trigger the computer to pull the timing. With a 12:1 cr - what octane were you using!!?? Also, were you using the LT4 knock module? Just curious - Nice Car.

  • yeah dude, so much compresion for pump gas...

  • @LT1Fanatic1

You would be suprised what comp you can run on the street these days. 12:1 is pushing it , but with the right cam (bleeding off compression) the right aluminum heads and good tuning skills. 11.5:1 is no problem.

  • @LT1Fanatic1 you are right by all means about the knock sensor picking up lots of noises to pull timing down, but lucky for the LT1, they used reverse cooling. Not like the vortecs, they just turn the water pump backwards. Some people think thats the same thing. The block of an LT1 is completely different than a standard SBC. They pump water straight up into the heads from the waterpump. Cooling the combustion chambers first. this helped alot with predetonation. Even stock they were like 10:1.

  • I love the beefy sound of that thing. The Chev smallblock has to be the world's best sounding V8.

  • I did have detonation problems due to the loud loud exhaust and the larger cam. It really just takes an amazing tune to actually get rid of it on the LT1 cars. This was on stock milled heads at the time of the video. The car ran low 12's off the trailer with NO TUNE. I feel it easily had 11's on it with ditching the 3.23's and a tune. I sold it a while back. I still wrench on Lt1's and Ls1's all the time though.

  • any idea what kind of poewr you make with the cc306 and what heads are you running... im thinking about doing a 383 in my 97 formula but im just trying to loko around at what other people are running to come up with my perfect match for parts for what is good for me...

  • whats the hp numbers to the ground? what heads u got on? thinkin bout gettin this cam setup on a 383 build

  • Nice car dude!

    Flat top pistons? stock heads?

  • if it is a stock head,it should have been very very good ported,,afr the best to go of the shelf or lloyd elliots.

  • U have Detonation problems?

  • the exhaust is just mac mids with an ory and magnaflow but of course this is bypassing that going through the cutout :). I'm going to step into a set of LPP stainless lt's with an ory soon for this car...I just turned about 1,400 miles on my build and everything is great so far! This is connexion2005 on my Ls1VideoHowTo account by the way...

  • Congrats on the your ride ! I just had my 355 lt1 with the cc306 cam built but I'm having a hard time getting mine to start but after hearing yours its giving me motivation to keep working at it ! By the way what kind of exhaust is that? Is it magnaflow or SLP ?

  • good job man. sounds awesome!
