It's strange how you compare the singularity to religion because that's how it is being treated by the "followers" of science. Because one man,who is very good at making predictions,predicts a singularity, everyone thinks it is the new savior and that somehow it will save humanity. It's a science cult.

How do you know the ancient myths are not based on something tangible, just because you do not know about it does not make it not so,Perhaps certain subjective aspects of the universe can be perceived that cannot be be objectively.Carl Sagan,baffle me,when they make stupid statement about things like he did about the Hindu epic day for Brahman exactly matches the age and approximate devolution of the universe as an "accident"Besides the "singularity" was predicted by a philosopher already.

How do you know the ancient myths are not based on something tangible? you said this<<< exactly my point how do you know? you dont! science at least has proof, experiments ect. myths and books cannot be called truth unless it is proven, so people of "faith" are blind followers, science you can touch measure hear see smell. im not saying holy books and religions dont have some knowledge and wisdom in them,but their fairy tales cannot be proven.

Well,lets look at an aspect of religion/science. The zero,or Zed if you're British.The Zero was invented by the Indians to denote an aspect of their philosophy,the concept of nothingness in yoga. It then was adopted into their math system to represent "nothing." The Indians were the first to use Zero as a math concept and it stems from Vedic philosophy.Without the need to represent an aspect of their religious philosophy the so called modern science you have today would not be possible.

that does not make their other beliefs true, if i were to mix the blue print for a battery and mix it with pages of some "doctrine" i made up, the battery would lead to more technology but my doctrines would still be made up. i read the bible and take all its good moral ideas and philosophy and leave its stories of stoning your adultress wife and bowing to some one who we cannot prove exists. when they mix truth with lies some think the truth means all the rest that follows must be truth.

It's fatal entrapment is basing it's bet that we all want peace. So, in unison, we are to chant at a designated hour for peace and in the meantime they've their findings in results of men who stare at goats.
