The leafs in the standings at least for the next to years is irrelevant so dont even argue that back. In the last 10 drafts name two good players that the canadiens have drafted? The habs have done all there work in the free agency and signed big contract players in the process. They are almost at the cap and look what they have to show for it, a couple of solid players.

2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 drafts are too soon to say anything as they are all 21 or younger. White, Maxwell, Pacioretty, Weber, Carle, and Subban have seen NHL time this season.

You're basing your argument that the Leafs have a better future on the HOPE the Leafs signings like Bozak, Hanson, and Gustafson and draft picks like Stalberg, Kulemin, Gunnerson become anomalies. Sure they have shown flashes of being good but ultimately haven't done squat even though they're already approaching the mid 20s.

The scouting in the management is awful, the habs will always in a spot that does no good for them in the playoffs and no good for them in the draft so they always have to draft around 13th-17th overall and always get shit players. PK subban is the best yet and that isn't saying much. The leafs on the other hand have done an excellent job and now have 4 players that are the future of the team under a 1 mill contract (Hanson,bozak,stalberg,gustavv­son). I could say a lot more...

You can't say much more at all. Leafs struggle to draft NHL talent yet alone good players. Hanson, Bosak, and Gustafson as UFA signings. They're also 23+ years old. Their cap hits aren't under a million because of the bonuses Burke had to give them. FYI Beauch, Finger, Komi all UFA signings too. Leafs have as much cap space as the Habs do next season, about 13 million. The difference is Habs have less players to re-sign. You guys don't even have 1st or 2nd rd picks the next couple drafts.
