The script for this scene: You're looking at it? Well... Nothing is the right color. This is the base color. It gives the tone... shadow in the light. And when it's dry... I glaze over it with blue, but... thinly, so that the black shows through. Look, Griet. Look at the clouds. What color are they? White? No... not white. Yellow. Blue... and grey. There are colors in the clouds. Now you understand.
This beautiful scene reminds me of one of my teachers. When I handed in a drawing she said, try to draw things just as you see them, not as they are supposed to be.Then I looked carefully at different objects and I realized there is magic there: the effect of light on things (and its absence too, the colours, textures, hues, wow!).Besides, this film is fantastic (everything) ,it's like a window to the past , the acting is wonderful and the photograph magnificent!!! Thanks for sharing.
does anyone think that in this video he kinda looks like gary sinise in Forest Gump...if you just kinda glance at him...idk i just thought i was him at first. lol
One of my fav.scenes in this movie. I keep telling my boyfriend he, like everyone with green eyes, has a small tone of brown in his. He keeps saying "no, I have green, not greenbrown-eyes." but for exampl: Were I to make a black horse look realistic by it´s colours in a painting, I´ll at least have to use white+ different tones of brown, blue, green and perhaps even purple! Same with a white horse (blue, grey, brown & yellow) :)
Once my father told me that he can draw a forest without drawing even one green leaf. I remembered these words when I saw this scene.

I think Griet should take off that hat and go lock the studio door...
