In contrast, those of us who don't like the noise blasting from the stadium's powerful PA system are FORCED to hear it. You are too stupid to comprehend the difference.

Ok, what time is it there? 5 in the afternoon? Yea, people are going to be mad at them playing some music when no one is asleep. Plus, it's not like there's a lot of people that live around the stadium except students. Go get fuckin life you low-life. Please go do something fuckin productive in this world. The harassing comment from the jerk soonerborn150 arrived in my mailbox at 2:10 am, Sunday morning, April 5, 2009. And he tells me to "go get a ... life." This jerk is so obsessed that he stays up all night on a Saturday night composing and sending harassing internet messages, because he loves noise and cannot stand the fact that there are people who want relief from the noise-polluters at OU.

Elenchus has set a record. This pest sent me seven insulting messages in the early morning hours of March 8. The first one arrived at 3:51 am. The last arrived at 8:42. Over a period of almost 5 hours, this nuisance sent seven harassing messages. I have deleted six of them. The jerk's curiosity about where I live is troubling. In another message to a forum, which I deleted, this obsessed miscreant actually proposed a meeting with me.

The jerks who bombard me with insults (possibly just a handful of Boren boot-lickers using different youtube identities) are always anonymous COWARDS. They suffer no embarrassment when I ridicule them, as they deserve. In contrast, I use my real name. I am not ashamed of calling David Boren a tyrant and disgusting miscreant. The library has also become a noise factory. Cell phones were supposedly banned in 2001, but the "ban" is never enforced. The consumption of food is also supposedly banned, but there are plenty of violators. The sound of cracking cellophane is frequent. Then you have the jerks with loud earphones. Some jerks even have the audacity to blast noise from the computer terminals' external speakers. Under Boren, OU has become a noisy funhouse. It's a disgrace and insult to the very idea of education.

....If you have been there and people have been loud, you can tell them to go to a floor that is not designated for silence, or tell one of the workers. It is not OU's fault if somebody is talking in the library. I have had to ask people to be quiet before and they have been very polite about it and do end the noise-making.

A common tactic of Boren boot-lickers is to misrepresent me and then criticize me for things I didn't say. I don't complain about people just "talking in the library" so long as they're not loud and not discussing frivolous nonsense. It IS OU's fault that in the library (1) cell phone nuisances have had their way for ten years, (2) loud earphones are a frequent disturbance, (3) some jerks even blast noise straight from the external computer speakers, and (4) people consume food and drinks.

This PA system is indeed insanely loud. I live a bit over 3 miles from campus and I can hear it pretty clearly from home. I'm not sure "look out everybody, there's a crazy terrorist headed up Asp!" is every going to be blasted through this system, so I'm not sure it really counts as an emergency alert tool. To be fair, I can deal with game-day chaos and noise as it just comes with the territory, but there's a lot of noise coming out of this thing that has nothing to do with game-day.

You're right. It's insanely loud. During the Boren days much insanity has emerged. That PA system need not be heard by anyone except those who attend the events there. A few years ago several hundred thousand dollars were spent to upgrade it. Blasting his noise across the community is Boren's way of reminding us that he is "the boss" and can do what he wants.
