  • Sweet sound.

  • BROOTAL !

  • This video convinced me to buy this pre. Thank you.

  • Settings??

  • @BleedingUtopia Gain at half way. Every other knob at max.

  • can you post the settings? thanx

  • @ESEVEINTISEIS Sure, gain at half way. Every other knob at maximum. Yes MAX. This preamp is one of those rare beasts that sounds great with tone settings like that!

  • what the song?

  • @EvgenLavren2 It's a riff from a song of mine that I'll be releasing on an EP. Hopefully soon!

  • What Power Amp are you using?

  • @raed666n its direct, no amp

  • How do you directly record it? Sorry for a stupid question lol it's because I know nothing about pre-amps

  • Great tone :)

  • What is impulses.? Thanks

  • @Sebastianodelarada he means digital cabinets in this one ;) they can be digital reverbs etc

  • i cant help but bob my head to this. that was fucking AWESOME!

  • amazing !!

  • Sooo much better sound and tone than the 580 I used to have. Don't ever get the 580. It blows, big time for anything other than clean and light crunch.

  • @ABOlsen69666 Prett sure you were using it wrong, then. It's identical to the e530, except for a few added features. But hey, blame the tools soon.

  • ou yeah!! brutal fucking metal!!!!

  • Feeling the sickness, nice tone!

  • Badass riff and the drums are great too-

    Awesome tone.

  • What are these drums can you tell me please ? They sound GREAT !!!

  • 1)What your guitar Gibson Les Paul?

2)You played metal with gibson flying v, how good sound?

  • @metachozoite i agree this tone sounds bad. there are some great metal bands with awesome tones though.

  • is it possible that I plug this directly with audio interfaces but also use an effect processor like TC electronic g-major? Are the Fx loop and "preamp out" separated? Thanks!

  • @LambOfGod4Life888 , I own this preamp, and the amount of features it has is ridiculous. Yes, the effects loop occurs before the frequency-compensated line out, so you can incorporate your loop into your direct recording. It does take a little while to get your direct-recording tone down a bit, but once you've got it, it's easy. This preamp can do anything. Check out my videos for a variety of non-metal tones, if you're interested.

  • Seeing this thing is only 485 euros, it totally demotivates me to buy a 2200 euro Axe Fx Ultra.

  • @Erithlon No kidding. Way too many decent modelers out there to spend that much money on an Axe FX. Either way it is going to sound better after production and mixing.

  • Fuck!! Sounds AWESOME !!! Well done!

  • does the headphone output sound any good . is the distorton similar to what i hear now ???

  • @artifact26 Not really, it's ok but it doesn't sound as natural as with impulses.

  • quad tracked or double tracked?

  • A Metal tone i actually like, and i am not a metal fan.

Better look into this unit !

    Thanx !

  • What impulses do you use? Very cool sound

  • BILLY MAYS HERE!!! CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS PRE-AMP COMES WITH ACTUAL TUBES??? IF SO, THEN HOW MANY???

In some sites i see that this pre-amp is called solid-state and in other sites i see it listed as a tube pre-amp. WHICH ONE IS IT????? its driving me NUTS!!!

  • @dimmub69 It's loaded with 2 tubes. It is NOT solid state.

  • @fearcomplexmusic YESS!!! i was hoping to hear that!! So, this and a heavy duty power amp would suffice for almost any kind of venue right??

  • @dimmub69 Absolutely, this and a good power amp will deliver the goods anywhere. Also, If you have an amp with an fx loop you can run it through that, I'm using it through the power section of a bugera amp and it sounds very very good!

  • @fearcomplexmusic hey bro i know it's a preamp so logic tells me yes but, can you run this in the loop of your head unit to effectively have that as the preamp? I always read about the recording and headphone outs built in dual 1.5 power amp but, i want to run this with an AB/Y through my marshall so i can have classic and modern at the flick of a switch.thanks!

  • @diesect33 Hey yes you can, go from the send of the engl to the return of your head. I've tried it with a bunch of heads and it works great!

  • @fearcomplexmusic Thanks! I assumed you could because of it being a preamp and a head unit consists of a preamp and power amp but, i wanted to be sure pre purchase.

  • @dimmub69 :

for specs: always look for manufacturer website.

engl website is loaded with information about their amps

Power Amp: 2 x 1,5 watts solid state at 4 ohms

for the pre amp it's 2 tubes

    V1:ECC83/12AX7 FirstQuality

    V2:ECC83/12AX7 selected

  • How much???

  • is it possible to jus use this e530 tube pre-amp as a replacement for my head, and just run it through a 4x12 cab?

  • @tubescreamermuff yes you can but it's only like 5 watts and I believe you MUST use a stereo cab or risk messing up the engl. I don't advise it, even the cheapest power amp would be better, I have a video of it with a dirt cheap one.

  • @fearcomplexmusic - If I were you I'd just go invest in a Crown or QSC Power Amp that pushes 100watts or more. Depending on your 4x12's power rating, I'd just go with max 200 watts and that is screaming loud!!!

I run a SansAmp through a Crown Power Amp for my bass rig and I love the freedom of being able to adjust the volume to each cabinet separately.

  • You're one of the few musicians who I can really just crank my speakers and listen to the glorious tones and riffs.

  • Fucking great sound!!!

  • I like your sound in solo but it just seems like its too stiff and out in front for an album. I understand this type of metal is very obnoxious in its tones...but to me, something that sits back a bit and has more depth makes songs more epic.

Im probably not explaining myself well but its an art to mix heavy driven guitars without having them sound obnoxious. Think, Dream Theaters first album. They poke in to give impact to spots in the song..just a thought.(I listened to your other stuff)

  • @fearcomplexmusic Pliz Bro..send me link with Steven Slate Download! pliz Thanks! congratulations for sharing videos

  • I love all your videos thanks for sharing!

  • What tubes do you use?

  • @crguti i use jjecc83s

  • I don't get it with the impulses..

this preamp has a recording out with a speaker simulation, doesn't it?

so why using impulses? and where did you get them? and how to use them?

  • @Xiny0ung the speaker simulation in the engl isn't all that good so I use impulses because they're simply better. There's a link to them in my how to use impulses video.

  • What software did you use for the drums?

    Nice sound man, engl rocks!.-

  • @chuko85 I used steven slate drums with this

  • @fearcomplexmusic But what kind of version or library?. Thanks.-

  • Wait.. i;m confused,, is this the real ENGL e530 u use through a real speaker or is just from one of your softwares??

  • @s3ike123 This is the real engl e530 with impulses

  • @fearcomplexmusic wow :O nice! the sound is incredible! :D

  • Great Tone Bro! Super Meaty! i just listen to this on some super big speakers and it sounds great!

  • I remember this one. Sounds nice

  • What Impulses did you use?!

    Nice tone btw.

Maybe a little little bit undergained or dry....

But i like it very much!

  • I actually experimented a bit and used a Pod Farm cab instead of an impulse on this!

  • Nice and meaty!!!
