  • wind em' up Chuck

  • where can i find the mp3 of this?

  • Chuck Brown is hot.

  • my favorite chuck song...p.s. Go-go today is a dichotomy much like reggae and dancehall, so is go-go and bounce beat. Bounce beat is spearheaded by young bands like TCB and CCB are geared toward the under 25 crowd while Chuck Brown is still at the helm of the more mature go-go sound. A common argument among fans is who cranks more? but it is understood that Chuck is the godfather and therefore in a separate category.

  • you aint coming on youtube teaching them something are ya?!?! :) lol

  • Go-go is characterized by its heavily syncopated, very danceable rhythm and emphasis on congas, cowbells, timbales, and other percussion. Its directly evolved from funk and blues and draws heavily from jazz and gospel. Its trademarked by live performance, improve, call-and-response, and what is referred to as playing in the pocket. The name go-go was originally as a term for party-going to the go-go Fans and bands were know to play and dance for hours on end.

  • can someone explain to me what defines go-go music?

  • It's the style -it's the sound-the shuffle and shake. Kurtis Blow (Transformers & It's Party Time) the group, E.U. (Doin' the Butt) and TROUBLE FUNK borrowed on the idea but Chuck Brown invented it.

  • thanks. ill look into those groups.

  • Cutter hit it right on the nose...it's also an experience.. you have to be there to feel it. It feels like an African War Dance like the tribes do just before they go to war.
