  • Yo that aunty is a G. Lol she got shit on lock.

  • chakde fatte !!!!!!

  • LOL @ Some of the comments here. Bhangra in NYC and in USA in general isn't great. They hardly produce any great songs and singers at all. Right now, it's UK and Canada is running the show. Even India is starting to fall out of the map. lol

FYI, Mixing bhangra with rap, dancehall and reggae started in Toronto in late 80's and early 90's. NYC/Americans didn't even know what Bhangra was until Jay-Z did a song with Punjabi MC.

  • Balle!

  • Brooklyn NYC all day!

  • "THIS IS THE BIRTHPLACE ABOUT PEOPLE WHO ARE EXCITED ABOUT CULTURE"...

This is why I hate so many Americans. They believe everything came from America. You dont even have a "history". Ever heard of Europe you Bhangra cu..? Bet you never even heard of it...

  • @marcuskilinen r u a fucking retard?

  • @marcuskilinen

na man never heard about Europe

  • @marcuskilinen funny quote isn't it, considering bhangra is an age old part of indian culture, from long long ago, yet it somehow didn't count as culture until NYC claimed it. haha

  • parji india bijali chulgi,,jaldhi kar meri bond nu sar lagda

  • only thing that sucks is too many ugly bitcches in there LMAO

  • Shit, now I want that cd. Where to buy? Borders? lol

  • great - unity through music how the world should be :D one love

  • basement bhangra looks good.

but the comment she said that it can only originate in new york.. thats so wrong she has obviously not been elsewhere..

  • You could possibly have as multicultural a mix in Toronto or London -- but Rekha is 100% correct that only in NYC could you have an event like Basement Bhangra. Nowhere else has the same combination of cultures, people interested in dance & music, and the availability of a large enough devoted space to do this in.

  • You couldn't possibly be more incorrect.

True NYC is a good venue. But I have seen similar and just as successful weekly events in Berlin, Vancouver, and Toronto. Sydney must have a plethora of events. In fact, my University in Canada, has had a regular weekly bhangra night for the last 10 years.

  • YEAHH but having it NYC IS THE best!!!! and pakistan is not involved

  • @NyCxDhAliWaLxJaTtI totallt agree wid u bro...keep it up

  • @okhalid she is retarded lol

  • @okhalid 1 second ago

When I said "Basement Bhangra could only be born in NY", I was talking about the specific Basement Bhangra party at SOBs and it's specific vibes -- the piece was a celebration of this long standing event. By no means did I mean that Bhangra was born in NYC! And if anyone wants to tell me where to go for some good Bhangra in London or Toronto, I'm down!

  • man look at that crowd! i love america, any culture/race u can think of, especially in NYC.

  • Wow!
