Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Seeing the photo of you guys at Silver Pass, you look familiar. Do you hike in Yosemite often? I think we chatted a bit several years ago in Lyell Canyon while I had stopped for lunch by a creek. I could be wrong. . .
If we talked in Lyell Canyon it probably was 2004 or 2005. We are going to be doing the section from Onion Valley (over Kearsarge Pass) to Mt. Whitney this summer.
@RagMama123 Well, the trip I was referrring to was in 1998. But you guys still look familiar somehow. Oh well. I'm planning a trip to Ansel Adams Wilderness this summer.
Maybe we'll see you on the trail. My brother and I will go in over Bishop Pass and hike north to Tuolumne Meadows, and then back south and out over Bishop Pass again. We plan on being on the trail from August 2nd to September 8th.
My best advice is to carry only what you really need, and have fun!
@RagMama123 I get you :) We will be walking the whole trail from 27-28 August untill about 21 September the latest. Full permit so it s going to be great.
Abit nervous about the bears lol We dont have them over here in the UK hehe
We hiked the JMT North to South in 2004 and then South to North (most of it) in 2005. This year we will hike from South Lake to Tuolumne Meadows and back. Reprovisioning at Muir Trail Ranch.
It all depends on how many miles you need to do each day. We take it easy and hike just 6 - 8 mi. per day. Sometimes we will do a 10 - 11 mile day, but not too often. The passes are steep and the air is thin, but it is wonderful hiking!
Thanks for the comment. You can hardly go wrong shooting pictures up there. There is a postcard everywhere you look. We are planning another hike this summer.
No, I didn't play the background music. I just grabbed it from a CD.
Awesome video. thanks so much for posting this. I've gotta hike this trail!
