I hear Dr. Grahm talking about fats, as a monolithic group. But I'd like to hear him talk more about the effects of different types of fats on the body. For example, some people feel more weak after consuming hydrogenated fats than other fats due to the blocking effects on a cellular level of hydrogented fats. Would appreciate such a video. Thanks.
i got Candida AGAIN ... sigh... after eating high carbs, NO FAT, NO PROTEIN, for a few months, i'm so angry, i was rid of it for years, after fighting it for years... i wouldn't go on this diet
Strange as I got Candida AFTER I had adjusted my already low sugar healthy diet - I just decided to also cut out cooking oils too and stop with all Diary and meat - 5 days later I got Candida - so for me going low fat had the opposite effect
@Cummnz You are totally right.. I got the same than you. Carbohydrates will kill you if you have candida. Carbs does feed the candida. both complex and simple. Fruit contains fructose. look at fructose in wiki you wlll discover the bad truth. Other carb turns into glucose.... 80% candida food. SUICIDAL !
@NikoisBack I am with u on this.. I think it is potentially much more complicted than the way Doug is making it appear. For example, if a person has a parasite infestation in their gut.. or if there is congestion in thier liver, these things can create problems.. although, he does speak about fasting.. which can be assistive in helping deal with a aparasite infestation of the intestives, and congestion in liver. howver.. I cleared candida issues with the diet outlined in Dr.Graham's "80/10/10" book... I should also add that thi problem only showed up when I started adding fat ( avocado, cold pressed olive oil, raw nuts.. ) into my diet... I NEVER had candida on a low fat diet, whether it was cooked or raw ... It really is that simple, as simple as he says, so if your candida is not clearing up with all the other complicated ways, what have you got to lose? Try it and reap the many many rewards!

sorry for some of the typos I have. I'm using a software to help me in typing it doesn't always work as well. There are some things like peanuts that have 24 different fungi in them that should never be eaten. And yeast is another one that should never be. I also believe in eating good fresh live cultured yogurt, which I make my own. I have many many health problems right now and I'm trying to save my life through diet only. So I would love to hear your input on this.
I would like you and the doctor to check this site out and let me know what you think.
know the cause.com is all about the antifungal diet. They were eating as much rise you can. But some things you can't eat raw. The other site is called think fungus first.com. This is what I've learned so far, sugar, carbs, and starch all feed the fungus and mold in our body. So the only way to kill it is to stop eating it. Not permanently but for sure. Until it is died off, I will continue next post
if you have the panic attacks from not eating this is a symptom of chronic hypoglycemia, which is caused from adrenal gland dysfunction, building up your adrenal glands will get rid of the low blood sugar and excess adrenaline which is secreted to counter act it.
It does not make sense to me that a high frut diet could heal my candida problem. If I eat even a few bites of fruit, I can feel the candida going wild....... and it's like I get relapse of symptoms all over again. I love fruit and miss it terribly and would be grateful to understand this concept better. I have been on a low carb no sugar diet for over a year. ( I do cheat occasionally, with some fruit, for example) Please help.
Doug Graham speaks the absolute truth w/ 80/10/10. I know from experience, not just from "research". Talk is cheap. Experience is the best teacher. High fruit and very low fat works better for health and physical performance than any other diet out there, but then again, as Dr. G says, the 80/10/10 proportion is nothing knew at all. Not at all. It is a shame that most people continue to live with 1) ignorance, 2) addiction or 3) emotional disorder! Just do it people! The rewards are great.
How amusing, the speech about Everything is Everything, intermixed with the narrow-focused vegan perspective (condemning meat and fat without pausing to evaluate them as true tools of health, whether or not they shouldn't be consumed in conjunction with heavy doses of fruit). Interesting that people lose weight and gain in health (at the same time) on raw vegetarian diets. Every pound burned is 3200 calories of Fat into your blood stream. Mixed almost exclusively with carbohydrates.
Oh, and as a point of reference, I am amidst a juice feast myself, but find the surge of 'high' wrapped into the sugar consumption unfortunately unstable... twitchy... and look forward to going back to a low-carbohydrate Raw diet. But for now it serves a purpose.
Yet they heal. Until they hit the bottom of their own supplemental fat stores. Then the majority seem to get frantic, and somewhat scary. Point being, foods are a tool, and if you eliminate a vast portion of your arsenal of healthy, living foods, you are only hurting yourself. Raw is awesome. But Raw meat is the king of nutrients.
The HFCS issue, (an argument which I assume we're all on the same side about), has evolved into a more all-encompassing anti-fructose issue, including the fructose in whole fruit. I'd love to hear a point-by-point debate between Dr Graham & a low-fruit low-carb advocate.
he is the guy who saved my life, i respect him a lot, my sugar is normal and i enjoy life and i dont take any medications, and my doctor is suprised with my A1c result
Check out what Dr. Dwight Lundell says about the low fat diet. He is a respected heart surgeon who pioneered off pump surgery. He has performed 5,000 operations of coronary revascularization. He is coming out publicly and saying he found INFLAMMATION in EACH and every patient. A low chronic inflammation level in the arteries for years caused CAD.
He says the low fat diet is BULL.
SUGAR, TRANSFATS smoking damage the arteries and cause this inflammation NOT saturated fat.
Avoidance of meat is NOT one of commonalities of centenarians. In fact most have eaten it at some point. Look up SARDINIA LONGEVITY (the longest lived males in the world) They MOCK vegetarians in the video.
Weston A Price is quack like but so are YOU and so is Douglas Graham.
You are nothing but a quack, fraud and charlatan. A hallmark of a liar is certainty. Eskimos have LOW depression rates and they live short due to living in the freezing cold. You would too. Yes fruits and vegetables are important, but to only eat them is NOT balanced diet. Furthermore humans are decendants of ARDIPITHECUS RAMIDUS - AN OMNIVORE. Recently discovered
Ha-ha, fatlies! You must have studied anthropology in the 1910s! We descend from, and still are, Homo sapiens, who descended from Ardipithecus, although that is currently posited, as there may be gaps in that line of descent. Ardipithecus, you may note, was made redundant or extinct.
We originally descend from creatures that crawled out of the swamp; obviously that doesn't mean we can breathe underwater.
Please don't infer a cultural commentary from this, but Inuits[Eskimos] are short lived, as paradigm667 mentions below, and in rural areas, eat a subsistence diet of poor quality shop-bought convenience foods supplemented by hunted meat and fish. Their diets are unhealthy, and there is rising diabetes in their populations. Also, they ain't running anywhere. Maybe 1,000 years ago, but these days, they take SkiDoos everywhwere. Persistence does not equal thriving.
LOL! dza9, it's not the sun , it's his fruitarian diet
You're right though Graham looks like HELL. If you want to see a guy much more tan than him who is 80 Google "Larry Miami Haulover". Now THAT guy looks healthy, andplus he sprints 100 meters in 17.54 seconds.
Actually, they were extremely healthy when they were studied prior to widespread exposure to the sorts of foods common in Europe. Living on a high fat diet with plenty of raw fish/meat/fat included in it coincided with virtually no cancer, heart disease, tooth decay, etc. Once they added grains, etc, their health went downhill rapidly, as you describe.
BOTTO, Please define "extremely healthy." The 19 C. defintion of this probably diverged from the modern one, anyhow. But IMO, it's not just being relatively long-lived and relatively disease-free.
doug seems very down to earth and real IMO. quite liked that. as i exercise more and more fruit seems to be the only food my body craves and also green salads.
2. Coconuts(and other high fat foods, whether it be fruit, nuts, or seeds) are fine in moderation on 80/10/10 as Doug has said before, 80/10/10 represents your calonutrient ratio average across the entire year.
I hear coconut ranges from 20-80% fat depending on what stage of development it's at(a young coconut will be closer to 20% while a large, fully grown coconut will be closer to 80%).
Coconut has a LOT of fat...good fat. Cultures that subsist on 60% fat from coconuts and traditional, native foods have extremely good health and are very attractive as well. Our sorts of chronic diseases are extremely rare. Not sure how good it is to eat that much if eating processed garbage as well....
Coconut is rich in healthy fats, including medium chain fatty acids that resist being turned to fat, and are easily turned into energy.
They also contain a substance called monolaurin which is capable of destroying fungi like candida and lipid-coated viruses like Eppstein-Barr. People who use it are thrilled that they rarely get colds or flus, or have shorter than average down-time when they do come down with them.
I know of at least one other person who is thrilled to have gotten rid of his candida using Dr. Graham's protocol....Roger Haeske. He's another raw guru guy. Says he finally found an easy way to stay raw by creating what he calls "Savory Veggie Stews." He sells these raw vegan recipes, if you're looking for something you probably can't find in any other raw food books.
Pssst. Heard the one about the Eskimo who had a heart attack? No. And the odds are you never will. Why? Because Eskimos rarely suffer from heart problems.
And yet, amazingly, their diet is nearly all fat.
People google 'eskimo diet' and you'll find out why they are so healthy from fat.
doug, you should do a youtube video on eskimos and their diet and explain to us why they thrive!!!!
How do we know eskimos never had heart disease? Where do we continue to get this notion from? Weston Price? Did he do autopsies? No.
All autopsies performed on eskimos indicates lots of plaque in the arteries, the only difference is, they die so damn young from the general stress of a ketogenic diet that they can't even die of heart disease because other diseases get them so early. Again. Average lifespan in the 50's. Compare that to Okinawans who live over 100 often times. Almost no meat.
We know this you FRAUD, because of the EXPERIMENTS conducted in Greenland by REAL doctors and scientists on their cardiovasuclar health, you fucking nut........
It is WELL ESTABLISHED they had VERY, VERY LITTLE CAD on their traditional diets . That's whewre the whole notion f EPA and DHA being good for you comes form you fucking retard.
I'm also 16 years old, 5 foot 5 in. tall and I weigh 255lb. I guess I'm super healthy since I haven't had a heart attack. Thank you for showing me the error of my ways kind sir.
in what way are eskimos thriving? are they running for miles every day? their diet sustains them without causing massive health problems but is it ideal?
I like Dr Graham. You don't find him saying that if you buy this or buy that from him your candida will go away. unlike some of the other raw food gurus. His 80/10/10 diet seems like the real thing.
kevin is such a sexy manly piece of meat i want to eat his chimichangas.... yummmy. if only he was single.....oh wait a minute, im married tooo gues hes just a fantasy, oh well, hey annne marrie can kevin be my fantasy?

Wow! I loved it! It was very informative but the thing that got me was the last "throwaway" remark about there not just being one thing as the answer to all our health issues. That had a lot of resonance for me. Thanks Dr. Graham!
