@kornkid22 yes i am planning on going to comic con this year! I actually took some classes but they weren't giving me too much so im just watching videos of better artist drawing and that helps a lot more for me. And funny that you mention it, i do want to become a comic book artist so thanks!

guys he's not a rich ignorant kid ... he knows what he's doing I can bet you he probably didn't spend much or probably made profit buying those comics ... this is an investment ... there's no loss ..these comics become more rare and expensive everyday ...
@Jledz100 so are you saying my paternal grandmother purchased these for me? "mom of dad" aaahaha and no i've been buying and selling comics for years and thats how i make money to get them. bitch lol
i just found around 200 comicbooks in a foreclosed trailer so i took them and so far none of them are really worth much thier is one comic book in thier so old if you even touch the paper it wants to tear cant seem to find out how much its worth
MYLAR MYLAR MYLAR MYLAR INSIDE COMIC BOOK CRATES FUCKER. You have some of the holy grails of the comic book universe buddy. I know they are cool to show off but the best thing you can do for those jewels is put them away unless you want to read them or of course have the occasional show off. Oh ya and you should buy comics from a reputable deal not ebay. Lone Star Comics and mile high is where I have bought most if not all of my comics throughout my life.
You're incredibly ignorant if you believe a single word of what you just said.
Not everyone pronounces the names the same. I called Darkseid "Darkseed" for the longest time, that doesn't mean I'm a bad collector. And what the hell do you mean no smart collector would bring their comics out? That is the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. Comics are to look at, whether it be just the cover in a CGC case or reading it. Being in the light for 20 minutes does nothing wrong.
@FindersKeepersComics No what he said was pretty much true. Youre right that leaving them out for 20 min wont do any harm but I think he was assuming he left them like that all the time. And I could be wrong but I thought only his Green Lantern one was in Mylar
I'm not saying he didn't pay what he did, but come on this kids like 15? I'm 25 and I would never spend $1,000 on a comic. I think he's bullshiting on the prices a little. That or his parents bought them. Sorry I don't believe you paid no more then $50.00 for any.
@ilovetallwomen22 uh yeah. yeah i do. my favorite character is Batman. i'm trying to collect issues 400 to current and then after that i'm back-tracking.
he doesnt read them he just collects...which is a waste. and even the creators of dc and marvel said these should be cherished and read for a long time but anyways man keep it up nice collection
@eltrio619 you can get them at virtually any comic book shop :) depending on the book/issue, they can be anywhere from $20 to $1.5 million. Usually (but not always), the older the book, the more value it demands. Check on ebay as well. If you are starting off as a collector, i would go for 1 book in particular. Make sure it is in the highest condition possible- New Mutants #98. That book will be a seller, i can promise you
i started collecting comics about 2 weeks ago and i reciend 200 comic books from the lirbray for free but they have the check out stickers on it so there not mint or anything.but i keep those seperate from my mint ones.
@rafo467 it just happens as you do this buisiness more and more. You start off buying a $100 comic (please tell me you can get a 100 bucks). And make profit on that, buy another book, make profit on that- and so on.
i got a aliens vs predator isshue 1 in mint condition but i bought it 4 like 8 bucks at the jokers child (comic shop) but i got it last year wen i was 10 so im proud of it
@Batmancomicsandtoys I am kind of waiting right now. I am after a Superman #6, Detective Comics #41, I am even bidding on a showcase 22 at a 5 so I will probably lose, but after all is said and done of course I'll make a new video
Thats kind of high for that Detective comics in that condition 1400 would be the price for a good or better condition, I would figure that one to go for 800 or so.. but then again its a collectors supply and demand issue.
One day I will restart my collection minus all the crap i got in the 90s, Stick to my favorites, Thor, Silver Surfer and drool old Iron Man.
Dude, you have a great collection. I have a poor mans collection becuase that is what I can afford but I have it and that is what is important. I was so amazed with the collection videos from everyone, I made and posted two of part of my collection. Its not the best collection but its mine and I like it. I invite you to take a look and give me your thoughts. It is the WV comic book collection. Thanks and keep up the good art work.
@MritalkApple Dont start off with the REALLY expensive stuff first. My number one rule is: Collect the books that you REALLY truly like. Maybe the cover stands out, or you like the artist, or the story....so many things. Buy and collect the stuff that interests YOU, and you'll be on your way to a very successful collection
I collected for years just sold them a few years ago. Dont aim for expensive just buy what you like at first. Most older standbys will rise in price but its a myth that comics at least some of them dont decrease in value. Take Teenage mutant ninja Turtles now a mint condition number one will at least in value to collectors be around 2,200+ dollars street value.. thats first run number one not number one A B C etc. But in the early 90s after the movies were out. prices were out of sight for them.
@MritalkApple yeah the best way to get tons of comics is from birthday and christmas presents. another thing is that its ok to collect new comic books no one is telling you to get old expensive comics...even though i have tons of old comics which im proud of but when ever I visit my comic book shop I settle for a graphic novel or a comic
@luis9709 Not so much rich as i am lucky. Most of my books were "rescued from the dump" you've got to be passionate enough about this to look ANYWHERE and ask ANYONE for these comics. My friends say im embarrassing because i'll usually get into discussions with old men at a store to ask 'em if they have any comics
@FindersKeepersComics I love doing both. I buy the keys as investments, but i do silver and golden age runs for the joy and passion of collecting. Especially marvel keys are GREAT investments now, with all the movies comming out. I plan to post a vid on the extensive majority of kick ass silver age DC/marvels that i have!! I'll let you know when i post it, or you could subscribe :)
Thanks man, personal message me if you wanna talk.
@artisticdude2010 lol yea. but in the industry, very few people give credit to hulk #180, including cgc. The enlist IH #181 as the first full appearance of wolverine
Broke money don't make money. Go ahead kid put those collectors to shame with basements full of boxes with worthless modern comics. Showing of worthless comics that people only trip over when they visit your home. Amazing Spiderman #1, Amazing Fantasy #15, Incredible Hulk #1, Fantastic Four #1, and Xmen #1 will make any real comic book collector and women cream their pants. If you fortunate to buy these issues they will double in value every 10 years. Get rich on compound interest. Nuff Said.
The numbers are a 10 point grading system to judge the condition of a comic book. a 0.5 would be the lowest grade and a 10.0 would be the highest earnable grade (mint condition)
Yes, i can answer any further questions you have about comic books. unfortunatly, a 1993 spiderman book would really, at most, only fetch around $5. Look around for the older stuff. Personal message me w/ any other questions,.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
its so fucking stupid how you pay 1000 $ for a comic dont you want to read comics holyshit yo get comic prolly like every 3 monthsthat sounds boring as hell get good modern comics and in the future when your 50 sell em
i buy comics for 2 reasons the main reason is because its entertaing the second is the investment im not going to read a 20 page comic once in 2 months when i could get 20 comics in 2 weeks
I very much support the first reason you buy comics, because its true. You should be buying the comics of today for moral entertainment, but it's stupid buying a truckload of comics made in 2008 and expect to make profit from them. To give you a quote "To make money, you've got to spend money"
You've got a good theory; on how modern comic books will be rare in the future, but theres no evidence that supports that theory. As a matter of fact, evidence leads that modern comics will be worthless in the future, as they make large print runs. The more prints you have, the more books the public gets, if everyone has the same $1.38 comic book, it'll be worthless. Versus buying an old comic for more money with a very low print run. Do you understand? No need for swearing.
go buy the amazing spiderman 583 first obama cover get the one that says inaguration day on the bottom rght corner its been out 1 year and already sells 100$ and get amazing spiderman volume 2 #36 9/11 issue
Funny you mention. I have asm 583 in all 4 prints. I can probably dig up my old asm vol 2's, and im pretty sure i do have the sept. 11th issue. And note: asm 583 can just barely fetch $100 if in NM+ and if its the first print. Nice try :P
@serzh123aaa Variants are terrible investments. You could do much better with that $100 like buying a VF Detective Comics 359 or a VF+ to VF/NM Incredible Hulk 180.
People pay alot for those comics not to read there investments. Why would you sit around reading a $1,000 comic. Just read them online. I have comics that I have bought for around $200 or $300 years ago that people would give me thousands for today. Expensive comics are not for everybody but if you have the money, and money is not a concern then why not do it because the return on your investment will out perform the stockmarket even in a down economy..
thanks man! haha yeah ive been collecting comics for quite some time now. do u collect too? i love talkin to the fellow collectors on utube, as there arent that many!! thanks for all your intrest in my collection, it really makes my day :)
he doesnt have detective 27 haha that was fake. that issue would be $250,000 at least. based on the shitty house he lives in, im sure he didnt buy that. also, cut your nails dude....creepin me out!
you are really a retard. obviously you dont know anything about me or comic books in general. on a good day, that book could fetch 70K, haha and how can u be making comments on my house when all youve seen is my room, idiot.......go back in your closet motha fucka
i guess once you keep collecting and selling it becomes an investment sorta thing. like at first i saved up 1K for a lower grade ASM #1, i sold it for 2K three yrs later and bought something more valuble. sold that, got more money ect... until i had i nice sum of profits and a nice collection. its a good method for staying alive in this expensive hobby, but gettin your moneys worth

Especially marvel keys are GREAT investments now, with all the movies comming out. I plan to post a vid on the extensive majority of kick ass silver age DC/marvels that i have!! I'll let you know when i post it, or you could subscribe :)
Thanks man, personal message me if you wanna talk.

These are some nice books man....However Hulk# 180 is technically the first appearance of wolverine...He had one panel in the comic!!!!
artisticdude2010 2 years ago
@artisticdude2010 lol yea. but in the industry, very few people give credit to hulk #180, including cgc. The enlist IH #181 as the first full appearance of wolverine
Batmancomicsandtoys 2 years ago
Lol you have a couple of comics there that are over 500$ lying next to them is a 30$ book
serzh123aaa 2 years ago

MrAfroPanda 2 years ago
Nice collection. Just make sure the #181 has its value stamp. Nice to know that someone your age appreciates the Silver and Bronze-Age classics.
tellshiar 2 years ago
Meant to say double in value every 1 to 2years. His spiderman would earn him around $2500 right now.

Nuff Said.

@robbussum Couldnt have said it better myself man! Thanks!!

what do the numbers mean, like 0.5 and 9.5 and stuff
OldComicBook 2 years ago
The numbers are a 10 point grading system to judge the condition of a comic book. a 0.5 would be the lowest grade and a 10.0 would be the highest earnable grade (mint condition)

hey do you now alot about comic books? cause i have a mint codition spider comic book from 1993 and i wanna know its worth anything??
franciscoquinones211 2 years ago
Yes, i can answer any further questions you have about comic books. unfortunatly, a 1993 spiderman book would really, at most, only fetch around $5. Look around for the older stuff. Personal message me w/ any other questions,.
Cheers!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
its so fucking stupid how you pay 1000 $ for a comic dont you want to read comics holyshit yo get comic prolly like every 3 monthsthat sounds boring as hell get good modern comics and in the future when your 50 sell em
serzh123aaa 2 years ago
i agree.. but if you buy one for 500 dollars then sell THAT when your 50 it will be worth so much.
OldComicBook 2 years ago
i buy comics for 2 reasons the main reason is because its entertaing the second is the investment im not going to read a 20 page comic once in 2 months when i could get 20 comics in 2 weeks
serzh123aaa 2 years ago
I very much support the first reason you buy comics, because its true. You should be buying the comics of today for moral entertainment, but it's stupid buying a truckload of comics made in 2008 and expect to make profit from them. To give you a quote "To make money, you've got to spend money"
Batmancomicsandtoys 2 years ago
if you have any other comics make a vid
serzh123aaa 2 years ago
You've got a good theory; on how modern comic books will be rare in the future, but theres no evidence that supports that theory. As a matter of fact, evidence leads that modern comics will be worthless in the future, as they make large print runs. The more prints you have, the more books the public gets, if everyone has the same $1.38 comic book, it'll be worthless. Versus buying an old comic for more money with a very low print run. Do you understand? No need for swearing.

go buy the amazing spiderman 583 first obama cover get the one that says inaguration day on the bottom rght corner its been out 1 year and already sells 100$ and get amazing spiderman volume 2 #36 9/11 issue
serzh123aaa 2 years ago
Funny you mention. I have asm 583 in all 4 prints. I can probably dig up my old asm vol 2's, and im pretty sure i do have the sept. 11th issue. And note: asm 583 can just barely fetch $100 if in NM+ and if its the first print. Nice try :P
Batmancomicsandtoys 2 years ago
@serzh123aaa Variants are terrible investments. You could do much better with that $100 like buying a VF Detective Comics 359 or a VF+ to VF/NM Incredible Hulk 180.
JuicersSuck 2 years ago
People pay alot for those comics not to read there investments. Why would you sit around reading a $1,000 comic. Just read them online. I have comics that I have bought for around $200 or $300 years ago that people would give me thousands for today. Expensive comics are not for everybody but if you have the money, and money is not a concern then why not do it because the return on your investment will out perform the stockmarket even in a down economy..

najma50000 2 years ago
i guess once you keep collecting and selling it becomes an investment sorta thing. like at first i saved up 1K for a lower grade ASM #1, i sold it for 2K three yrs later and bought something more valuble. sold that, got more money ect... until i had i nice sum of profits and a nice collection. its a good method for staying alive in this expensive hobby, but gettin your moneys worth
