It looks to me that he was quite a bit out of the groove at about 300 feet, well before the car got loose. I would have given it up at that point, seeing how he left that big red light on back at the starting line.
He did a great job of keeping alert an droping the chutes, but anyone that has ever driven a fast racecar will tell he was just along for the ride. Again not taking anything away from the driver but it also was a redlight pass. Which would have made it even worse if the car crashed. Very nice car though, good luck with it in the future.
Wrong. You'll notice after the first spin he pops the chutes to get the car settled down. This is a tactic used to slow the car and it kept him from hitting the wall and saving it for another day.
I was sitting in the stands on the right side of the screen (off camera). This was the best save I've ever seen in my life. Peter did an AWESOME job keeping the car under control. Everyone gave him a standing ovation when he saved the car and when he was towed back past the grandstands. Well deserved applause indeed!

I don't think he saved anything,the car was out of control and did what it did..The driver was just along for the ride!
