  • Sound on sound magazine is fantastic, although you would think the dick head with the mic would point it at the guy speaking!!

  • Would have been good to hear it

  • What an asshole trying to make himself look good with at that techno babble. Just fucking play the thing for us will you!

  • Can you use a couple of Marshall 1960 cabs for monitors? What about a 100 watt head? What are the best cheap monitors i could get for around $300? Thx

  • Sagopa Kajmer'in yeni aldığı makina :)

  • NewSB technology!

  • So impressed the Guy on left speaks out right speaker, guy on right side speaks out the left speaker. This is so Pro. It makes me want one so bad, NOT.

  • Im in love with this roland!! I want one for meee!!!

  • idiot, the interviewer is there, not here.

  • Fantom g will be my dream forever.. CoZ i cant buy it.. It cost 220,000 yen.. Huhuhu

  • Damn reporter.. I cant hear the explatation.. Give him the mic you moron

  • I can't hear my metronome on my sequencer when i'm recording!!

  • Interesting, but hearing their voices panned is really annoying.

  • Ohhh nice nice, but how about pointing the F**** mic!?

  • @ElCaza89 He doesn't need to point the mic as they both have separate mics.

  • his fat ass needs to wash his greasy fat fingers and get in to playing shyt..

  • 22 simultainious fx, or 22 different KINDS of fx? Big difference.

  • hey, i'm looking to make my own home studio. could someone please take their time out to tell me what exactly i need to build one. anyone with experience. please drop an inbox, i will be forever grateful.

  • play the damn thing man

  • fat

  • lol he sit there to much

  • WTH? He didn't even play it!!

  • 22 simultaneous effects, at the same time XD dumbass lol

  • i wish they would just show some stoned guy fucking around making stuff.....

  • what an idot reporter

  • Duckhop. Seach that on youtube. watch first video hit. Animals, ducks etc. music.

  • Woww O.O

  • My guitar cord will not pull out of the back of the Fantom G. A lot of people on the internet are complaining about this. The jack just gets stuck back there on the Fantom G's. Do a keyword search to prove this.

  • I so want to buy this with my redundancy money but my wife will kill me.

  • MOTIF XS

  • Stop talking, start playing!

  • What good a presentation, if you don't touch one key of the keyboard?

  • IF YOU GOT THE MONEY BUY A KORG OASYS

  • ...and as a conclusion the Motif sounds NICE but doesnt look NICE (so what huh??)...as for the M3 for me is the best of all 3...it has GREAT leads and pads...Great organs with a bunch of settings to manipulate the sound to ur liking..very good pianos and great bright piano..good strings and the MAGNIFICENT orechestral strings with the layered sounds which sound just amazing...non to mention the touch screen (oh yeah) with the X-Y mode and the 360 degrees joystick (favorite) and 1 last word KARMA

  • Well im about to buy a keyboard and i was between Korg M3 Yamaha Motif and Roland Fantom...and my conclusion is...Fantom looks GREAT but sounds really crappy (wtf yeah u have an 8.5 inch screen with great quality but u dont have the most important....good sounds)...as for the Motif well it has the best pianos (Yamaha's specialty) and really really GOOD organs and strings, but it lacks on lead and pads which are very important to play some leads and to add expression on the song u play or create.

  • @Diablos199 Sounds alot like some pathetic hating going on...lol Fanboys or something. I've been playing over 30 years & I've had all the systems you can think of...from the classic Yamaha DX7, Korg Poly 800, Casio CZ, yadda, yadda...as of late, I had a Korg Triton X which I loved the board itself, the key action, the touch screen was nice but the menu interface made it cumbersome & the sounds seemed dull & lifeless, I now have the Fantom G8. By far, the best action & sound/features EVER!

  • @RedskinsGM2B well i am 17yrs old and im a piano player for 10yrs...i spent hours of searching for a nice keyboard and Fantom just dont fits on me...yeah u can say that i am a korg lover but i didnt say that Fantom is a bad keyboard...its great but not as good as the motif and the m3. Well the only good sounds on it are the lead guitar sound (indeed AMAZING) and a synth lead sound that i cant remember the name (for me i chose the m3 because it has a lot potentials...x-y mode 360 joystick karma)

  • @Diablos199

Agreed. I too, miss the 360 action of my Triton & I've always had a soft spot for Korg. If they ever make another serious standard breaking workstation, I'll definitely buy one again. Heck, I'd buy the TRITON again if one came across my path. The new M series just felt too light & delicate for my taste. Felt like it might break if I started pounding during a rock rampage. lol Yamaha, I like them as a company but, lately they've seemed to stock the sounds for Hip-Hop.. Fail.

  • It looks like this is made for the new first class synthsizer's crowd, the gay DJ's who play a song by entering a beat and playing the chord roots and those toys aren't made mainly for experienced keyboard players.

  • konuşacağına çalsana amk evladı dinleyelim sesini yavşak :))

  • I got so bored I literally nearly fell asleep...

  • play something!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the hell with this! wheres my jupiter 8

  • cara poe o microfone na boca dele se nao num dá meu!!

  • Fat

  • I was about to buy one... :-(((

How long are people using this complicated tool ? two weeks (the time to discover everything and to get sick) or two years because it's so much fun and pleasure...?

  • Roland is dead and rotting...

Come on best rompler is probably pc/mac loaded with vienna , project sam and east west samples

Roland should stay away from those Gayboards and create some new synth instead

  • Roland is dead and rotting...

  • All talk and no play makes this video very very gay

  • you can save up to 2000 samples

  • yes the technology is better than 80s and 90s but the creativity definitely getting worse...

  • i just heard it only comes with 32mb ( 3 minutes) of sampling time. better have a little extra for dimm memory.

  • best keybaord ive ever used. it does more then i can even understand. and that screen is absolutely amazing

  • the drum functions are great

  • im getting this keyboard for Christmas!! YAY! :D

  • right out of the box

  • Ed Diaz Rulez

  • Is this the only keyboard that doesnt have a chicken in the back?!??!?!?!?!?!?

  • Is it me or did he say graphic a crap load of times lol

  • @Bhupz not as much as he says right out of the box lol

  • I was hoping to hear music........... not for 4.5 minute of talking. Facts can be found in a brochure and dont needs youtube.

  • @Alfistagtv013 That's why its good not to hope. Crybaby.

  • @tun875

When I want to buy an instrument I want to hear the instrument. Strange for you maybe. Have fun with listening to the big boy in stead of listening to performance of an instrument. Pathetic creature !

  • @Alfistagtv013 Listen, as-face, if you had talent you wouldn't need someone else to convince you what to buy or to tell you what to do.

  • @tun875

Appearently you visitted same youtube page as I did. So appearently your comment is very applicable on yourself. Advise; think first before posting something which makes you look like an idiot.

  • screw this..stop talkin and let the G8 make some noise!

  • its incredible right out of the box. It will even make a double blue cheeseburger right out of the box.

  • Вот еще по Korg тут нашёл мануалы и всякие файлы тут gibsons.ru

К стати продают б.у очень дёшево.

  • son of bitch

  • Wow! The worst 4:23 demo of something I have ever seen! Maybe he was doing vocal samples and trying to fill up the memory? :oD

  • rofl click transcribe audio under closed captioning. The results are hilarious!!! Roland Fantom is SIIIICK!!!!!!

  • @TearTheVeilStudios

"But we have no chicken put at the back" BUT I WANT A CHICKEN PUT IN THE BACK DAMMIT!!

  • @tucker10 Goodness, I love Google.

  • @vocalboy01

screw the producer, its the composer that i credit for making the music

  • lol JUST PLAY IT

  • fantom g is easy to use

  • check out my rig. AX-1 to SH201 to Fantom g8 and sp404. i REALLY did some cool stuff in my keyboard video. LIKE METAL!!!!!??????

  • these keyboards are for "gear-heads" they definitely consume time to get to know the operating system.

  • Can a guitar effects processor such as the BOSS GT-3 be hooked up to this so I can record guitar through MIDI?

Also, will this support 2 condenser mics so I can record acoustic guitar in stereo?

  • good demo! "slim"!, rite outta the box " i repeat" rite outta the box !!!

  • is this keyboard hard to learn how to use

  • yes ive had mine a couple months it definately takes some time to learn how to use

  • @DJaytiM09 ok then i should probly look at something from korg then

  • Fuck. I have this. I'll never figure this out

  • lol he loves saying "rite outta the box"

  • I'll stick to an M3 (weight/size+consistency in sound quality and controller assignments).

    Expansion boards... LMAO.. Roland..

BUT I LOOOOOOVE SOUND ON SOUND! When your competitors are sitting back, charging $15 USD for a single issue.. THANK YOU FOR THE USA EDITION!

  • @hammertime

No. While sample-playback 'boards are versatile instruments able to do a range of musical styles (including hardcore), I'd recommend more of a strict synth.. like a microKORG or Alesis Micron, or the new Akai Miniak, which is an Alesis Micron with some Akai goodies tacked on. The microKORG XL is also good, as is the Roland SH-201. I love my MK though because I can use batteries and the editor is great.

Note, though: No one listens to hardcore anymore. Hullabaloo, dude..

  • thanks man, I took a look at your suggestions and the microKORG XL looked the best out of those to me. two questions about that because I couldn't tell for sure. Does it have good drum sound and options?, and I saw it has a USB port, but can you play sound formats (wav, mp3, etc) off a flashdrive onto the synth and live edit it (like you can do with the roland G6)?

  • Even though I'm not looking to purchase the keyboard, the sales guy has managed to sell it to me. Just wish Roland would go back and recreate a real analogue synth that can emulate all of their classics like the Jupiters and Juno's and JX range. I haven't bought hardware synths for yrs but that would make me purchase.

  • the dude iz bigger than the keyboard............hablo ingles lol

  • oh man i played one before and its amazing! so much fun. you can do so much with it, especially with the addition of the mouse.

  • u have got to be the dumbest interveiw in history

  • Didn't play nothing!

    Please people, be faith!

  • cual es mejor este roland o el yamaha motif xs8????? y cuanto valen??? gracias

  • it is an amazing unit...the only thing missing is hammer action keys

  • the G8 version does have hammer action keys

  • love how a person can make fun of roland one of the leaders in keyborads? anyways love the usb mouse control now

  • roland makes bells and whistles.. they dont make new innovative sounds. maybe except for V-synth.... and Eddie......im a big guy too but you can try a bit harder....

  • lol @ open labs

  • Fine, Korg Yamaha and Moog :P

  • Haha Open Labs is a Joke!

  • he keeps on saying "right out of the box." like there are things that aren't included

  • Fantom G sucks, get the X it has more sounds. The G is like a complete studio but it lacks in sounds.

  • For more info, you can join the Fantom G facebook group.

  • i dont need a synth thats computer/flashdrive compatable.

  • it`s like feel a new Ferrari

  • How much? dollars

  • about 3,100

  • "NewSB"

"Right out of the box!" x2

"Simultaneous effects at the same time!"

  • hahah...22 simultaneous effects:P

  • At the same time!

  • woooow you don't need a music studio at all!!!! coooool

  • Complete music studio heh?Not quite....you won't be able to even record half of the midi or audio tracks before you run out of memory.

  • wow , so basically you could probably make a whole album on this thing !

  • It seems like the better the technology the worse the music is.

  • Hahahah yes, sad but true.

  • it depends on what kinda music do you like more, i don't think so but i have to say.. you're right.. because the creativity tens to decrease with that "tons" of tools to make music

  • @THEDEFOCATOR Wow this has been the best comment I read in the past 5years, you hit the nail on the head.

  • @THEDEFOCATOR That's because people don't need to work for it anymore....it's gotten to a situation where literally ANYONE can make something...even if they shouldn't!

  • @THEDEFOCATOR

    very true

  • @THEDEFOCATOR what happens is that if there is no creativity technology can not work miracles ...yes you are right today's music sucks with or whitout technology

  • @THEDEFOCATOR y does the music get worse if the better technology makes it sound good?

  • @MRTKOO Now people get lazy and think that all they need is great technology. Before, you had to work hard to get great music with the things they had. With new technology, crappy artists can become famous too.

  • cannot load roland or any format multisamples. Only one shot samples. TOTALLY LAME. Real sampled unstruments are still better and more realistic, why dont they add that feature. Why not add a VST player and put Receptor outta business

  • too much focused on making songs. i want roland to make a super synth and not a damn workstation i want to see what the technology today can create with state of the art sound modulation!

  • @johnnyostrawb33ry, check out the roland v-synth GT then

  • @johnnyostrawb33ry Interesting you should say that. If I was interested in top-quality sounds only (without workstation capability) what synth would I have to look for?

  • @InnerflamesUnLtd honestly the only two things i can suggest for awesome sound these days are The korg oaysis and a hammond organ. unfortunately both extremely expensive. oaysis = 8k and hammond organ = 25k the oaysis focuses with max 8 diff ocilators and wavelenghts amazing....

  • @johnnyostrawb33ry Haven't Korg stopped making the Oasys though? That's what I've heard anyway.

  • @johnnyostrawb33ry what you mean too much focus on making songs? isn't that the purpose of these workstations?

  • @jimzer well roland needs to come out with a keyboard that actually makes sounds like the korg oaysis. roland was known for creating syntheziers that specialise in creating sounds not songs. get me?

  • @johnnyostrawb33ry

the whole concept of a workstation is totally outdatet in times of computers.

the keyboard industry seems to be in deep sleep, exactly as the music industry was as the internet came up with napster and so on. now their income has decreased by 90% because they didn't wake up early enough.

I see the same coming with the keyboard industry.

  • @johnnyostrawb33ry We arent forcing you to buy this.. this is made for ppl in recording.. if u want strictly super synth get a clavia nord.

  • @johnnyostrawb33ry dude its totatly worth it!!! if you seek super synths its fucking awesome!!! still, it have waaaay to much stuff, thats the thing that i dont like, roland made it with all those features because they want you to buy it, the more things that thing have, the more you have to buy it, cause its the only thing that have what it have, if you understand, so, buy it if it is worth it to you, for me it is

  • @johnnyostrawb33ry well they have many categories of keyboards, this may not be the type of keyboard that you are after but they probably make something more like what you want

  • This is the best workstation out yet.

  • Thank God this kind of stuff wasn't around in the Beatles time. They would have been too busy trying messing around with the buttons to actually write any music. I've got a Roland synth module and OK in a way this technology is great but I can't help thinking that in the final analysis they somehow take away the real joy of making music and instead mess your head up with concepts of digital processing.

  • And of course it washes your underpants and makes the tea at the same time in a highly intuitive and graphical 3D way.

  • he didn't even play it once this is a useless video...

  • This is pretty worthless - who wants to hear about how "graphical" a keyboard is?

It's like saying our flutes are 80% more shiny.

Just play the thing so we can *hear* it...

  • Now why u need a big 3D display? -.--

  • what is best of the motif xs or the fantom g? plz reply!

  • i think g8 is better a lot

  • motif xs.......they are WAY BETTER.the sounds are more realistic..

  • Motif Xs has the best acoustic sounds.. acoustic guitars, flutes, pianos.. etc...

  • this guy likes his cakes. he should stand up more.

  • You don't even need a music studio.

  • very nice but can you guys put the same piano & rhodes sound as in the roland rd1000s or roland mks-20 in these nowadays keyboards or in an expandsion board

  • fantom G8 VS motif xs8 = NR1- EXCLUS OASYS

  • woulda been better if it had touchscreen instead of a mouse

  • Unless your fingers are as thin as a stylus, for most functions touch screen would have been useless. Plus, it makes the screen dirty.

  • Man, move that mic!!!!!!

    It´s not an ice cream!!!

  • Roland Fantom or any Kurzweil? what would you buy?

  • Kurzweil PC3X. Better, and Sexier.

  • Comment removed

  • You can´t import sampled data into PC3x

  • True, but thats about it. PC3x has an unlimited amount of tracks instead of your typical 16. Besides, it's acoustic sounds are faaaar realistic and nicer than the fantom.

  • I´m interested on how the PC3x´s

keybed action feels, can you tell us please? Fantom G8has the same as RD 700GX, and is pretty good.

  • Feels a bit "rubberish", but the sounds are terrific.

  • well... just bought kurzweil PC3x and got rid of my old roland xp-10. I don't know why roland always wanna put some fancy GUI (look at 0:33) on their boards instead of just good sound?

  • what a submissive piece of shit

  • igot one 2 days ago...

  • Motif XS wayyyyyy better. plus we have bert smorenburg, this spokesperson annoys me, bert is funny, extremely knowledgeable, and a great player

  • (3:48) 22 simultaneous effects, at the same time!!

  • There was a dick right outta the box

  • I have a Fantom X6 and it has awesome drum kits. But this here will probably blow away the X6. This one, you can incorporate your own music from a guitar into it.

  • I have a Fantom X8...I love it...but if I need new sounds I can always add the xpansion cards to X8...and get the same sounds in the G...but more importantly....I would rather use my X8 as a controller and use all of the soft instruments that i have on my Mac and PC...it's a smarter and more economical way to go versus buying a new Fantom.

  • Response @ BAMNtelevision:

MiKo/NeKo are not computers that just happen to run production software. If you look at their site, they describe it as a studio computer mixed with a synthesizer/midi controller. They keyboard itself is basically a MIDI controller that uses the onboard computer to use VSTI's to control the sound the keys make. The onboard audio recorder removes the necessity to use two completly seperate objects...

  • this was annoying to listen to because of the spokesperson

  • yessir

  • this was annoying to listen to because the spokesperson for Roland is panned hard right and the interviewer is in the left.... why not just record the entire vid in STEREO???!

  • it needs MORE COWBELL!!!

  • Poderia passar esse negocio em português?

  • nao percebes inglês?

  • playyy the dammmm thing alllreadyy!!!!

  • I just got a g6 a couple of weeks ago ... its worth EVERY PENNY !!!!!!!! it really had me in awe of its capabilities!!!!!!!!
