@UnemployedZebra i have got the 55-300mm 4.5 - 5.6. its sharp at 300mm, but not in low light, wich is because the 5.6 . so you will have a better aperture with a 300mm lens (at 200mm).

Nice pics man! Love the bird image! very sharp! what are those monitors? and what is your experience with being a YouTube partner? I'm thinking of getting the 550D for its video mode, however do you recommend anything that compares to it and possibly cheaper?

My experience is the same as being a YouTuber apart from there are now adverts on my videos.

The 550D is a excellent camera, my friend has one and it is miles better than the Nikon D3100, i'd stick with the 550D, as no other DSLR (except the 7D or 5D mkII) is better for video
