The other day I spent 6 hours in front of a green screen and hot lights putting together a scholarship video. Around hour 5 I started getting pissed off at my brothers in the basement making the littlest noices and I'd yell at my mom for talking to much. Emotions really run high on a film set especially when things are taking forever to unfold.
The lighting individual was clearly being a dick about what he was going, possibly because the guy doesn't like Bale as a person for whatever reason. Professionals know what to do on a film set and this guy was not being professional. Bale took it upon himself to put the guy in his place. If some random guy I've never met was being a dick and hitting a cymbal on my drum set every time I tried to play something I'd fucking go off on him. Typical American attitude = no facts, no problem

I wouldn't be so fast to label the incident "small." Most serious actors really get into their roles and invest themselves heavily in their characters. Having someone just walk in on set during filming must be incredibly frustrating when you're in-character. Still, yelling at people rarely improves the situation, and almost never resolves any conflicts - communicating in a calm, collected manner, however, often yields great results.
Of course everyone defends this bastard because hes a man & american media is always sensitive to anything a man does,its never considered a big deal,but if a girl acts anything like how he did,not even as bad,its everywhere & everyone says shes a bitch,no one defends her,same with charlie sheen,everyone defends him & he gets a freaking documentary to support him,everyone is a brainwashed idiot,men made the world exactly as they want ,by using the media to brainwash u:men do no wrong,is the msg.

It's a shame, because he's such a diverse, talented actor, and he's going to be kept off the Oscar spotlight for a few years because of this.

@Blueterracrimsonfire wtf are you talking about? Why are people acting like Bale wronged them? You're right about the issue being trivial, which is why they resolved it fairly quickly. Everyone else in the world weren't affected, yet they act as if they were. He doesn't need to apologize to you. I mean, if you heard the recording that was hardly Bale's fault. Who are you to say he shouldn't be forgiven? It's not for you to forgive. It's Shane's, the DP, who Bale was yelling at.

People keep saying yeah he should be forgiven because he's a professional expressing himself, it's such bullshit, even if michael caine were to do it, doesn't excuse what he did. So what he can empathise i'm sure we all can but most of us have the common decency and restraint to stop ourselves. Everyone gets angry sometimes but i felt his was too harsh. It's not like the guy did it maliciously and he apologised a lot, if bale can't forgive him over something trivial why should he be forgiven.

@Blueterracrimsonfire exactly man the only guy who should also be taking as much heat for the rant is the director of the film..how do you allow an actor to rip a team member like that without stepping in the minute he starts to make physical threats..you have to stop it then and there...bale isn't doing anything that can't be done over again..no one told him to be an actor if he can't handle the pressures and needs to act like a crazed man..plus the man is way overrated..

@ScottfromTexas What Planet have you been on ? Batman begins and Dark knight(the Nolan Batman films) are universally praised as the best comic book films ever. They get great reviews and and have been hits at the box office.

Its really understandable about what he did. Think about it guys. When your at your job, working, and your having a bad day and then someone is just making it all the more harder on you and this happens frequently, wouldn't YOU flip the fuck out too? You try to bottle up all the frusterations and move past it, or you try to talk to the people who are making things difficult and to no avail. You end up exploding. I've felt this way at work AND in my band when no one is getting shit done.
