I'm proud of every album Our Lady Peace put out. All of them were so different which made them one of the few bands I never got tired of listening to. Do I like all of their songs? No, but I'm not going to conplain because the majority of them were so worth listening to.
But my favorite thing about this new album is that they are being so involved with their followers. And they are actually listening to their opinions which for a.) is really hard to do and b.) shows how much they care about us.
All who wish to know, I spoke to Jeremy Taggart via Facebook, just a matter of weeks until the album is released! And for all us European fans, 2012 is when they'll be back! like so people can see!
@robdabest02 Trust me. He never said how many weeks. You're going to get an announced release date a few months in advance. But like I said, you'll have a single very soon. ;)
@robdabest02 Trust me. A single just came out today. Fight the Good Fight. Just as I "predicted". Jeremy was also just on a radio show as well, saying early 2012.
@DGFilmsPC Well, at least I was right about one thing, there's gonna be a tour. A worldwide tour apparently, in 2012. I hope they come to the o2 for the night, I will be first in line to buy!
wish everyone would shut the hell up about mike turner.
OLP dont have a bad song, and I've talked to steve, and he's a lovely guy, and a far better guitarist than mike turner. mike couldn't really play that well, but that was his style. steve and mike have 2 different styles which have ultimitaly made the band a lot more versitile and varied,
@sitstandnow There are a few over the years I'm not that fond of... Do You Like It, Made of Steel, Where Are You, Wipe That Smile Off Your Face, The World on a String, Walking in Circles, Never Get Over You, White Flags, The End is Where We Begin
@Slacktoo Aww, Do You Like It is one of my FAVOURITES! I like Made of Steel a lot too. The others are good but not as good as some of their songs. I don't think they have a BAD song either. Some aren't as good as others but that's expected with every band
@Slacktoo and I could say I could disagree with all of those except The World On A String... come on Slcktoo... you could say that, but you can't say every song from the first 4 are flawless either, in fact, far from :P
@Slacktoo :P the only ones i'd have to disagree with you are DYLI,MOS,and WF.
I'm not too fond of Clumsy, In Repair and 4AM all horribly written shit songs.. ONLY KIDDING XD (actually they are in my top fav olp single songs!)
I'm not to fond of "Boy" "Apology" .. really wasn't crazy about HIPT.. it was ok.. some songs just didn't do it for me.. don't gemme wrong there were a few descent songs off there.. but i hope their 8th release is the best thing since Spiritual Machines :D
@Slacktoo You're forgetting all the bad songs they wrote before Mazur joined the band. Hello Oskar, Shaking, and Story of 1,000 Aisles; not to mention that half of Naveed is utterly forgettable. Even the band doesn't like Hello Oskar!
@Slacktoo i quite liked the world on a string. it was the one really different song on that album that reminded me why i love this band. can't say i'm a fan of burn burn though (except paper moon, time bomb, and the right stuff). i hope this album is more rock and less adult contemporary corporate standardized programming, which i would call strike 2. lol
@IDanClarkI i gotta disagree, but it's out of personal preference. Mike's style & use of effects gave them so much more diversity and a creative sound. Steve may be a more talented player, but the songs have become more and more generic since he has joined. Every album with Mike had it's own signature sound. Now I just hear a plain rock band that could be interchanged with many others. I also attribute that to the lack of Arnold Lanni and Raine's unique vocal style disappearing.
@IDanClarkI They have a few I don't care for, but I'll agree they don't have any poorly-written songs. And I'll agree Steve's a better guitarist, but that wasn't the appeal for Mike. He and Raine started OLP together, and Mike was one of the songwriters. I liked the songs he wrote better than songs Raine was in more control over. And that's really the appeal for me. I was sad to see him go, but I don't dislike Steve. It's just that Mike was the reason I started playing guitar.
All i have to say.. is so many people complain about Mike Turner leaving.. just listen to Crash Karma =) you get the best of both worlds!! Props to both! did i like Mike Turner in OLP.. of course!!! But I also respect and love the band for who they are. Unique. rarely does a band write their own music and be successful in this world. grow up.. the band did.
This is what I've wanted to hear from OLP for the longest time. They don't need to sound exactly like how they sounded 10 years ago, they just need to make good tunes.
This... actually sounds like the true evolution of Our Lady Peace. I'm very happy and thankful for this. Thanks for uploading this Slacktoo!
Wow, this sounds great. It's very different, but that's definitely a plus, one of my favorite things about OLP is their lack of fear in shaking things up by recreating themselves with each new album in a way that sets them apart from the mainstream. Thank you Slacktoo for the upload.
@sitstandafterwards No concrete info. on the release date yet, but the band was initially hoping for summer 2011. Doubt that will happen now, but hopefully within the year.

Most of those songs are kinda meh for Our Lady Peace, although I do like them. But I LOVE Do You Like It. One of my favorites on Gravity.
