  • Dumb douche bags, like women don't get raped & beaten every day here. U would think u all are world travelers & know other cultures. U know tv, that's it.

  • @sciomni2008 Right let me guess. Because you KNOW right?

  • @sm753 yeah, & u and creatures like Adam gums don't

  • @sciomni2008 Yeah I should have guessed. You only know because you're one of the people doing the beating and the raping in this country. Good job. You're absolutely right, people like AC and myself wouldn't know.

  • Damn Tavis is a fuckin' dummy.

  • Bee-yul! Bee-yul!

  • The Great Martin XYZ!

  • By the way, when Tavis says "we" do x or y, he really means white people.

  • The women there have to wear black sheets. This isn't even an argument over who treats women better.

  • When America was lynching 1000 blacks per year,no one in the middle east said it was barbaric,if these people in the east are behind don't come down their necks once America was behind too,America was putting a man on the moon but was still denying equal rights for some people........

  • @Savethealike

    You're a fucking idiot.

  • @thomasford ........THAT'S ALL YOU GOT, ?which part of my comment was idiotic? IDIOT = an utterly foolish or senseless person, which part of the comment is senseless hmmm?for every story you give about the middle east i'll give you two for AMERICA,idiotic is going to war with Germany and treating the German captives, better than the blacks fighting along side the white american soldiers..idiotic is giving billion dollars to Pakistan...YEARLY...

  • @Savethealike

I don't call you an idiot because I don't think you can supply stories. I call you an idiot because you think that that matters. You think that things that happened in the past, where most of the people involved are fucking dead, matter to judgement of a culture in the present. The way men treat women in the middle east is a problem RIGHT NOW. And even out of those stories you can dredge up from america's grimy past probably don't touch the problems with middle eastern culture.

  • @thomasford .... ...The middle east is not what you /we see on CNN,the middle east owns 25% of America, look they arrested Dominique Strauss-khan and two months later they are talking about raising the debt ceiling are you kidding me ,WHERE YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO GET THE MONEY FROM and your looking at the middle east ,they just give Egypt and Pakistan a billion dollars each this year, that's 80 000 students going to college for free that is...IDIOTIC....

  • @thomasford the reason that there is an immense educational and economic disadvantage for minorities is because of policies and decisions made in the PAST. To rectify these inqualities and create a truly egalitarian society then it will not only take work by every citizen, vast educational/economic reform but also time. righting the injustices of the past is crucial in creating equality and based on your comment, you seem quite ignorant.

  • @jeremyshambles

What you're talking about is largely irrelevant to anything I or the other guy was saying. I'm not saying that that problem you speak of is irrelevant, just that it's irrelevant to the point being made. We were talking about value judgements about a culture. Causally yes, the past effects the present and future. We have left over economic problems from those days, but you can't bring that up as an evil with OUR current culture. It's a problem we need to solve, but...

  • @jeremyshambles

...the acts that caused it are already done and over with by the time most of us got here. So when someone brings up that the culture in the middle east is fucking evil RIGHT NOW, it's irrelevant to bring up evils people in this country stopped doing ~50-100 years ago. Yes it left scars, but it wasn't my or anyone else in my generations fault. So you can't judge us as being evil for things others did, but we can judge people in the middle east for evils they are committing now.

  • @thomasford it s not about blame it s about recognizing why these problems occurred and the effects of such injustices and using that knowledge to hopefully one day rectify the situation and prevent it from ever happening again. cheers

  • @jeremyshambles

Dude, no fucking shit. Did you miss the fact that you were having a totally fucking irrelevant argument with me? You wanna start arguing about whether banana smoothies or chocolate milkshakes taste better you fucking moron? Did injustices happen in this country? Yes. Does that still haunt us? Yes. What the fuck does that have to do with whether or not the middle east is a fucked up, way more unjust place?

  • @thomasford oh dear, in terms of the mid east, liberation of women is the first and most important step in ending poverty and creating a viable society, not to mention implimenting a secular govt. and dont forget, flattery will get you everywhere, ta

  • @jeremyshambles

Well then once again you seem to be having an argument with me that neither I nor anyone else here was having. Reread what the person I was responding to said. They said, in essence, that we had no right to talk about the middle eastern culture when, in our past, our ancestors did some nasty things. So tell me what the hell your argument has to do with anything I'm saying? We can't tell them that they are wrong now because in the past people on this dirt did wrong?

  • @thomasford pretty sure you re the only one arguing and you seem quite angry, good luck with that

  • oh please tavis you cant compare america and muslim way of treating women the same.

  • I just read a story last week about a woman in Afghanistan who was buried in sand from the neck down and then beaten to death with stones by the community.

And we don't treat women better than them? WTF

  • @avarioussire thats like the norm over there. in the very well written novel "The Kite Runner" a couple is stoned in the very same manner (by the antagonist) in a stadium at the half time of a soccer game i believe (wittnessed by the protagonist). granted i know its a fictional story but it follow the history and cultural practices of afghanistan correctly.

  • Imitation of Tavis is GREAT!

  • Two word: honor killings. There's nothing in our history of prejudice towards women that even comes close to rivaling this hideous cultural practice.

  • Big props to Adam Carolla for finally saying it like it is.

  • jeez i watched all of this. part 1 and part 2, and i have to say adam carolla is the most annoying prick. talks over the clips, doesnt make his point for shit, just mocks tavis smiley but not in a clever or funny way just dopey as shit. tavis smileys whole argument is fuckin stupid, and carolla cant even properly point that out. its pretty fucked

  • how can you not say that we do treat women here in America better than some of these other countries. we do have a way to go still, but its not as great as some other countries have to go. Some countries: dont allow women to work at all, tell then what they have to wear, arrange marraiges for business, trade, diplomatic, tribal deals, cut their noses and ears off/abuse them for the hell of it, dont let them attend school, and stone them/put to death for having an affair. tell me arent better.

  • "Who was applauding for Tavis Smiley?"

People who are not complete imbeciles.

  • you just went off the rails adam
