Ref should've waved it off, any arguement you bring up is invalid no matter what you say, the rules of boxing say that when a fighter falls face first that's an automatic fight stoppage. Plus montiel was convulsing, which could've been a sign of huge head trauma.

I watched 2 fights Griffith vs Parret and Mancini vs Kim live on TV; 2 men died because the fights were not stopped soon enough. Better to error in stopping a fight too soon than let it go on and a fighter gets brain damage or worse. I'm 56 and I did see both of those fights. I know bad things happen in boxing but in my eyes if the fighter felt as if he wants to carry on the ref should give him the opportunity, plus it was only the second round of a fight for two titles... If it was me and they were my titles I wouldn't want the fight to have been stopped then if I was getting up.

So why then, do we not legislate for "equality" in terms of athletics (i.e. helping "East Asians" to achieve in athletics), when we clearly DO legislate for equality in terms of education/economics (e.g. addressing the achievement gap, affirmative action).
