Sorry, but if I see a raccoon on my property, I'm calling Animal Control to come and pick it up. Hopefully they'll look around and if there are any young, AC can get them out of my house also.
As for not trapping and relocating these animals, what do you want us to do? Let raccoons continue to contaminate and damage our attics and the insides of our walls for a few months? Do you know how expensive a repair job that would be, especially now when times are tough? I say NO to that.
Please don't describe them as "abandoned" -- mother raccoons caught in Hav-a-hart traps often break their teeth and scrape all the skin from their paws and foreheads trying to get out of the trap to return to their young. If someone has raccoons in their attic or chimney, instead of setting a trap, please visit the Humane Society of the United States website for ways to solve the problem without creating orphans.

This video made tears come to my eyes. Very heart warming! Most people would just get rid of all of them. I am glad you helped them.
We had a raccoon nest in a tree just outside one of the classrooms and I would always get distracted by them^^
