could it be clear plastic behind the card. look at the angle it separates from the deck and goes back the exact angle the plastic folds up against the card making it almost invisible. a double lift would completely conceal it if needed.

First of all this effect has been around for MANY years. I owned one years ago. Ellusionist is just rehyping it as they do all their magic. There are 2 CLEAR strips of plastic that hold the card at an angle. Titling the deck just right produces the effect of hovering but it is attached. Good effect but angly.
