question: i just played the demo on playstation3 and i didnt think much of demo, but i really still want this game. Is the graphics and such going to improve alot in the retail game releasing 17th/21st?
for this 10 minutes i saw a lot of bugs... i hope they clean them up.
what i hated in the previous game was that the companions are complete characters like my hero, they have all the abilities all the stats... and you dont feel like you are the special one, the most powerful. especially when you misslvl something on you and the start liking the companions' abilities more...
@IcoKirov oooh, and i hope the appearance of the character changes when you change the equipment. i didnt see anything change when they switched armors... it will be dumb if you stay the same way all game, no mater what you equip.
Graphics look good. The enemy AI looks like it sucks. Hope its adjustable. I Played the first 2 Dungeon Siege games on PC. This is quite different. I hate how they "dumb down" these games and make them cross console games. This game is very linear. Follow that bread crumb trail...
@vegasboy7 You haven't played the game yet, so how do you know this is the whole experience? And you realize they probably dumbed down the AI for demo purposes... which is what most developers do when showing off the game so they can show off specifically what they want properly.

This game doesn't look to bad ill admit....the problem is there are quite a few better games (of the same genre) out now, and a few coming out soon too. aka its a 7/10 in a crowd of 9-10/10 games and will be severely underrated and overlooked. But will still buy cause i love my fantasy rpg type games.

@Doyledeth Yeah mate but what i'm saying is, Blizzard is not praised for Diablo 1, take a look at how bad that game was on the playstation, check on reviews and user reviews. They decided to go Diablo 2 Pc only and THATS where their success lay.
Dungeon Siege will flop on the PC for the simple reason that its designed for a console - first and foremost. Game may be awesome on console, not doubting that but I am just talking about the PC here.
@faralith Well i just played both Demos of DS3 and the ability to play with a controller didn't ruin it for me. It's insanely fun and they still made it better for the PC. I prefer playing the PC version, it's a lot smoother but playing on the ps3 wasn't too bad. Check the demo out on steam, it's really fun.

@gh3rockzzV2 I noticed a lot of new games started using the auto-attacking mechanic, at first I really didn't like it as I'd been used to casting spells on WoW. But it is more challenging way of fighting and managing your spells but to be honest I still prefer having a chunk of energy resource to dump spells out as freely as I like.
I can tell by this gameplay the use of powers and abilities won't be limited like the games you have mentioned as I've played those over and over myself ^_^
I hope they will make at least one reference to the farmer from Dungeon Siege 1, or at least have a character like Gyorn in it, or maybe a grave for Norrick! So many possibilities!
@Theprav Once it leaves the realm of being the ORIGINAL "Dungeon Siege" (you customize your original character, you have a large team, you actually siege things), its no longer Dungeon Siege.
If Dungeon Siege III were more like Dungeon Siege I and II, I'd be more excited.

@Darnokg regarding gear changing your looks- he talks about the Vanity Camera at around 8:45, and how it's mostly used to show off the stuff you've picked up; from which I infer that the gear you pick up does in fact change your character's appearance.

I'm just going off knowledge of the first two Dungeon Siege games so this may or may not be true but. You can meet other players, trade with them, play with them, etc. You can level up in the game, with this game it looks like you'll be able to give them different armors and what-not but you'll only be able to play using characters that the creators make. And yes, this should be free roam.

well great, but this is not dungeon siege. In dungeon siege you actually could control up to six characters. This looks like diablo. Graphics are cool. Stupid gamemakers. Just because GOD of WAR is a good game does not mean that all games should look like it.

At first...I saw this and thought they had ruined the game I love...Dungeon Siege. Well, I kept watching, and when I saw the multiplayer part, I realized it hadnt changed at all, the fast travels the same, when the camera zooms out it looks very similar. As long as the PC version has point and click etc instead of direct control I will love it!

i dont kno bout u pple but dungeon siege3 look way mor beyon dat of diablo 3. diablo3 really looks n feels exatly like diablo 1 n 2. wen look at dungeon siege 3 it feels more epic and more story-rize full of life and alive and it takes top-down dungeoncrawling genre to a ho nu level with da fusion of console style atmosphere. while diablo 3 jus feels exactly like 1999 diablo 2.plain. quiet. empty.. brainless world. i dink it made only for harcore fans stillstuc in traditiona top-down pc game

@MazBringsby You must not expect much from black people, do you? Really, why are white people always so surprised to see an educated or well-spoken black person? Honestly, its insulting. It implies that such individuals are an oddity. That is just how a person speaks properly. The 'African-American' dialect and accent YOU may be used to hearing from blacks are the result of being raised in an poor environment and rap/hiphop influence. You can hear the same in whites raised in similar situations.

@ghmessenger Yeah that could be true too... I have Egyptian/Algerian/Ghanain/South African/Japanese/Chinese friends who went to great private schools and universities, but sound like they come the country of their origin, while speaking English fluently.
Its one of those anthropological/sociological things, as opposed to a economic one....

@MazBringsby Your original comment just struck a chord in me I suppose. My friends from highschool and I all grew up in the same suburban neighbourhood. White, Black, Asian (predominately white). But it was only ever one of my black friends who recieved the comment (from my other white friends) "You're the whitest black guy I know," which to me sounded completely idiotic, as what the hell else did you expect him to act/sound like, having been raised in the exact same environment as yourself?

Perhaps they could have named this game as a different title instead of relating it with Dungeon Siege since it has no relation at all with its predecessors. I think this game looks decent for what it is, it resembles more or less typical console hackNslash games. No real overhead view... nothing sophisticated in that sense.

I got a few questions about this game while waiting painfully for Diablo 3 and Guild War 2. This game won't be out in March 2011 right? Are the consoles version similar to the PC version in term of multiplayer and what's the maximum player can be in the party (for example, D3 with only 4 players). Did any classes reveil yet? And any other information about this game would be great. Thx in advance for answering guys.

@Darnokg regarding gear changing your looks- he talks about the Vanity Camera at around 8:45, and how it's mostly used to show off the stuff you've picked up; from which I infer that the gear you pick up does in fact change your character's appearance.

@Darnokg Are there any spell-casting classes? If so, what will the consumption of their resource bar be like? Like, will you be able to cast a large number of spells before having to worry about restoring it (sort of like World of Warcraft (not comparing it)) or will it be like DCUO where resource power is very limited?
Lastly, is there a difficulty setting? I love a challenge, anything close to as frustrating as Demon's Souls for example would be amazing and definitely worth the pick up ^_^

2) Yes, PvP is planned
3) I think there is a level cap of 30 for the SP, the MP may work differently
4) For the SP there will be set character, so customization will either be limited or not available. Don't know about the MP
5) Obsidian hasn't disclosed that yet. So far I only know about 3 battle stances per character and I think 3 upgradable special moves per stance? Something like that.
6) No
7) SP will be fairly linear. No idea about the MP.

2. Yeah you will be able to pvp.
3. Yeah, around level 99. Not sure they might change it- previous games were around that level.... so i'm guessing same for this one.
4. Yeah you can, face,hair,size and similar to that.
5. I think this one is obvious, it's sword & magic RPG, so warrior type tank/dps, assassin,mage,ranged.
6. No monthly fee.
7. Yes it's free roam, you can play it again.

I'm just going off knowledge of the first two Dungeon Siege games so this may or may not be true but. You can meet other players, trade with them, play with them, etc. You can level up in the game, with this game it looks like you'll be able to give them different armors and what-not but you'll only be able to play using characters that the creators make. And yes, this should be free roam.

well great, but this is not dungeon siege. In dungeon siege you actually could control up to six characters. This looks like diablo. Graphics are cool. Stupid gamemakers. Just because GOD of WAR is a good game does not mean that all games should look like it.

@Fridabeekman I agree completely. DS3 looks awesome, but they should have kept the gameplay from DS1-2 but added the graphics. Graphics and gameplay goes hand in hand for me. Bad graphics (really bad) don't make me wanna play, neither does bad gameplay.

At first...I saw this and thought they had ruined the game I love...Dungeon Siege. Well, I kept watching, and when I saw the multiplayer part, I realized it hadnt changed at all, the fast travels the same, when the camera zooms out it looks very similar. As long as the PC version has point and click etc instead of direct control I will love it!

If you like jrpg square enix makes the best if you dont you'll be disappointed on lot of their games. I for one looking forward to dragon age 2 and kingdom of amalur. Bioware and Bethesda are are great at making western rpg. I'm also looking into skyrim and war to the north.

Dungeon Siege has been and will always be an Party-based Role-Playing Game with an special game mechanics which are totally unique, and last but not least, YOU MUST CREATE A CHARACTER, NOT CHOOSE!!! I had higher hopes for Obsidian, now, I don't know...
