Let me rephrase, Jesus is God and man, so to be like Jesus is more ideal than to be like the Father who is seperate from man.  The reason why God became man was to be like us to die for us, and to show us how to live, die, and live.

I don't see how this song could be about anyone other than Jesus. Eastern gods do not seek acceptance or belief. No one wishes to be like the Father, and the Spirit is the messenger. Jesus Christ is the model for all Christians. He is everything we want, everything we need. Our bodies are His temple, and are one with His.
