all these guitarists are monsters but when I listen to all these songs they play I got bored and feel nothing! everybody thinks they have to distroy the guitar for being the best,they all can play vai's songs or satriani's but when they have to make one it sound like a warm up exercise.. thats why musicians like steve vai,satriani,malmsteen etc stood on the scene for 20 years and will stay for 20 more..viva Andy Wood..

The lack of Muris tone that he's usually accustomed to and some nerves probably cost him this competition. Muris normally has the most incredible tone you have ever heard.

I really like Muris, but his tone way off here compared to his fantastic entry vid. Kinda screwed up the solo, but good playing nonetheless :P

Wow, I really love this song (listened to the recorded version a hundred times). But, this version sounds empty to me for some reason. He's great for not using some of the effects he did in the recording and still pulling the song off perfectly, but I wish this version sounded... fuller.

This, Gottardo's, and Damjan's entries were the most technically difficult entries IMO. This one is crazy. Even during the melodies, his fingers are moving all over the fretboard. And the solo was good. People are complaining about him messing up 2:25-2:28. Hey, you try to play that perfect standing up, it's crazy. Yes, it was a bit sloppy at times, and the tone was a bit dry, but for the performance, it was awesome, IMO.

I have been listening to all the finalists ,i have heard of only Zieno before.I can tell you this guy needs a btter sound,his playing is nice but that sound is like a broken down amp with busted speakers,i guarantee you thats why he did not win.

he ios a great playeri have see videos of him really shredding it up and here is a terrible honestly very dry and in many places he made mistakes hi bending was terrible and his harminies and timing where hideous.

I think the tune is so great, but it looks like Muris was a littel nervous here... ive seen a LOT of his vids, and this isnt his best playing. I personaly LOVE his work. I think it would help ALOT if he wouldnt have so dry sound... I think a little more gain and stuff would help a lot here. Some tapping licks and such are very hard to do with a dry sound. I believe he uses a pandora, so i wonder if he was using it here :P but check out other vids. HAIL MURIS!!!

I watched all the finalists through live stream and I thought the first few to nearly half were all muddy, flat or lacking something but then the sound cleared up about the time Jack came on. I LOVE Muris's own video he posted on Guitar Idol 2009 or on his own site as this song is vibrant, full of body and tantilizing. I am very glad that Muris won the Blackstar award as he is a dynamite guitarist. Well deserved Muris, you got amazing skills and this sound problem was not yours by any means.

just a point -

he plays 7/8 rhythm on some parts i think which is typical from where he is coming from . last year that poor back up band could not play that rhythm change so this year he made it simple for them so no more disastrous situation.

sadly you can't spot that rhythm so have to count every bit to hear it so you can't hear it

Strnage, I quite like his tone, not my favourite but I quite like it. Its the music Im not keen on tbh. Muris is a great player, innovative and melodic, but its not really to my tastes. At least the drummer played the right beat this year, I felt so crap for him last year, mustve been horrible.
