  • regardless if it was a "gentle nudge" the poor thing was obviously at it's wits end..not enjoying it. just cause you think it'll make a good youtube video isn't a good excuse. cause it's not a good youtube video, not at all. can't even watch a few seconds of it and have to turn it off.

  • @whoviantales Thanks for the comment and the view. Hopefully you rated the video also. Thumbs up or thumbs down, it doesn't matter! Any activity is good activity! Thanks again!!!

  • really? did you have to keep poking that poor thing?

  • @mhartsfield Really?!! It was a gentle nudge, don't exaggerate!

  • "Apparently" flew off? That poor scared thing! Take animals to rehabilitators or vets instead of poking them with sticks. When bats are alone and downed, it's not normal. How do you know it wasn't carried off by a dog or cat?

Just do the right thing, and look up who to call for local aid with bats. Right now, they're dwindling in numbers, and it does affect us directly with how slow these flying pest-eaters' numbers recover/don't from WNS.

  • @wingedsonar It's a heck of a long ways to the nearest vet from where I live!

  • @blackturtleshow You didn't answer my question. Instead of trying to call anyone, do anything helpful, you chose to poke a distressed animal with a stick. "It's too far" is no excuse to not even try to call anyone to you for help. Did you know rehabbers of endangered animals or others will sometimes travel hundreds of miles to save a dwindling species or a common one regardless? Now you know. For future reference and future action.

Put down the stick next time and do something useful.

  • @wingedsonar Poked? More like gently tapped, if even that! Half the time I was just dangling some spider web that was stuck to the end of the stick in front of it. Also, from what I've been able to find on the web, the Western Pipistrelle is not at all a threatened species. It's not even on a watch list!

  • @blackturtleshow No excuse. And WNS is wiping out species faster than those in the know can get the watch list updated. Little Browns are all but destroyed, and do you see them on the list as endangered? There are none even left! Human lists take time and money they don't care enough to give time and money to.

Again, put down the stick. No more "gently tapping" downed animals. Make a phone call or send out an email to bat lists and do something about it.

  • @peaceleopard It's probably inappropriate for you to speak for everyone else on this matter. The videos may not be of interest to you, but a quick numbers comparison would clearly indicate that my videos are viewed a few orders of magnitude more often than are your videos. The wonderful thing about YouTube is that anyone can post. The worst thing about YouTube is that any ankle-biter can be a critic!

  • @blackturtleshow

Ok, I was surprised because I found this bat nice and I found the music inapropriate.

    Good day.

  • @blackturtleshow Ooops I just seen you do music stuffs!

Ok I writed to fast, the only important thing is that the little fellow is not harmed.

I've seen many videos of harmed animals on what you called "the wonderful thing about Youtube is that anyone can post (lol I'm happy with that one, not the videos and those people who are DISGUSTING).

  • Fuzzy little bat :O

  • Scorpion in my garage.......Scorpion in my garage... boo yah!

  • i thought that it was fake at first lol

  • killer vid! thumbs up! clarence

  • @IMTheMagicRat Thanks!

  • What a cute little fellah! I would have ended up feeding him.

  • @kenrg He seemed uninjured from what I can tell. My guess is that he just didn't want to fly away in the middle of the day. Not sure if there's any reason why they can't fly in the day...

  • @blackturtleshow most bats are blind and they use echo location to get around in the dark

  • @Lotus201877 Untrue, many see as well as humans, other than color detection.

  • @blackturtleshow

he'd probably have been prey to birds or somehting during the day, when they would see him easily :/

  • @gabebarajas505

i don't see anything creepy about it.

  • @igotbored44

Only the incessant poking with the stick.

  • @wbwg Incessant? Not even close. Gentle would be more accurate.

  • @gabebarajas505 And I think you look like a troll but I'm not going to shoot or burn you and I highly doubt your anywhere near as cute as this strange and beautiful creature.

  • WTF?
