  • THIS VIDEO IS GARBAGE, LIKE DJ SCANDAL OR WHOEVER PUT THIS VIDEO UP... UPDATE UR FIRMWARE U FOOL...

  • This is 100% BS I have sl-1200 and sl-dz1200 using Traktor Pro and thy sound the same and if you update the firmware in the DZ1200 there is no digital sound when scratching with pitch lock on.. And usher what self respecting turntablist scratches that shit for real is this entire video a joke

  • hey man great video, i was just about to buy 2 of these...thanks for saving me from that BS.

  • @tswish11 Please tell me your joking man...

  • Blatant attempt at trying to undermine the product. A few words of advice, learn to scratch dummy and stop sucking Denon's cock. Moron

  • I have 2 sl-dz & 1210 blks from the 80's and they haven't given me any trouble, like my pioneer with both motherboard problems. I checked and I found out that lots of pioneers and denon are prone to have power problems . Its like cars, old school last longer running.pioneer has good features but they won't last as long as my OG.

  • Aahahahhahah This is my Firt Dislike ine FB :A:A:A:A: :D:D:D

  • in a world where activision sues electronic arts for product sabotage, i wonder why panasonic doesn't take action

  • If you want to scratch digital music get Traktor Scratch Pro or Duo. I my self got Traktor Scratch Duo and I think is better than Serato for scratching . Traktor has twice the resolution on the vinyl than other systems on the market so its better even on slow rubs.

  • wow puttin down the pimp technics I DUN THINK SO BITCH! technics work FINE oh and scratching WHERE THE BELL/RIDE PART IS...IS NOT A W/E U CALL IT!!!

  • Its completely RIDICULOUS how many of you believed a video by a guy who was paid by pioneer to use a low quality bit sample to bash these turntables.

If you own a pair you know their the best. Fortunately I don't LISTEN to OTHER people and have my own mind.

  • I'm gona put my idea in. IMO the Pioneers are the best. After using Pioneer, Denon, Gemini and Technics CD turntables I find the controls of the CDJ1000 to be the best. Everything is where it should be, sound quality is amazing and I'm not sold that a rotating platter on CD decks is what the DJ needs. They're also rugged, fairly quick loading and like mentioned before the controls are intuitive and easily accessible. I find the SL-DZ too cluttered myself.

  • @MrRayner91184 Another thing to point out is that you are most likely to find Pio CDJs in a majority of clubs anyway, so if you're used to Technics CD turntables it'll take a lot longer to work out where your useful tools are.

Oh yeah, to point out I predominantly use vinyl would probably be useful, I don't want any babies whinging about me being biased

  • wots the point of all this arguin??? if u wanna scratch use vinyl... if u wanna scratch an use digital, get timecodes..... simple.

  • the sound and distortion are egual same in the denon you scracth it only more speed... Technics are the best for the rotor and effect vinil simulation!

  • mülltonne auf und rein das ding und der war schweine teuer wie gut das es pioneer gibt ^^

  • this is a CDJ so dont compare it to vinyl turntables...

    that said

everyone knows vinyl turntables like technics 1200 are best

most Turntablist Dj usually draw the line after serato

after that they start bashing on people like on this video

im not an expert dj, but im just stating what im seeing lately

    lol

  • nice 5000's yo.! those technics look ugly ass shit mang and they sound pretty shitty if i was getting technics id just buy vinyl...

  • Yes sir!! .iti's corny and as hell now........ People don't wanna here all that racket anymore.......It's all about clean Mixing and blending that make sense. that's what makes a real DJ.

  • the closest thing that comes to real sounding vinyl is serato and the original 1200's. before i switched over from vinyl to serato i could notice even that havin digital distortion when doing cuts and juggles. vinyl will never die. only pussies/babie's are using cds.

  • if you can afford them then get another direct dek n scratch on tht u idiot

  • 'so???' so read the instruction manual dj scandal or whoever you are

  • scratching is played out anyway! i had the denon 3700's they feel cheap as hell so i had to get a pair of sl-dz1200's becase i'm so use to my sl1200 turntables they feel the same they have the weight and feel i want. not like the other denons and pioneers for that matter. the only issue i have with sl dz1200's is that they take a about a second more to read the CD. other then that there just like 1200 turntables. but scratching is out since the 80's

  • @fishfan67 DID YOU JUST SAY SCRATCHING IS PLAYED OUT SINCE THE 80'S??

  • Is it just this song or all songs do this?

  • it's only because of the master tempo that makes this effect

  • Comment removed

  • it may have somthing to do with the fact its probs been downloaded at a sghity rate like 192 kbps then ya will have digital distortion anyway.... i dunno like i use Vinyl any way ..

  • seriously stop scratching. YOU FAIL!!!

  • its not supposed sound like a sl , it s supposed to taste like it.

and anyway , if u gets analog sound scratch wit this usher song, i ll be very surprised; either on a sl1200 , either on sampler from 90's.

  • the sound of the scratches are to digital i dont know if you want to scratch use a vinyl its only the best for scratch this turntable what u are using in this video is like a toy not for scratch

  • Who buys a SL-DZ1200 for scratching anyway?...if you can scratch any good you more than likely started with vynil so why would you need to purchase this clunky piece of shit?...thats my point, I dont see the point in ya video...you dont seem to be able to cut at all anyway so why would you be pissed about the quality of this piece of equipment (which, while I have no interest in, I have used one and I could make it sound a lot better than what you did)Oh yeah...Usher?..for scratching?..GTFOH!!

  • lol......i almost fucked up and bought that garbage

  • lol if you all unhappy bout it then y didnt u try b4 buy i say more fool you if u want nice clean scratch stick wif the fking vinyl and dont keep dissing there product or use just to cheap to afford records. each to there own liking. and scandel your a tool who the fk scratches with fkin usher any way maybe if u were a half decent dj you would know wat would sound good to scratch on the technics but obviously ur a fail fat dj that cant make it big. LEARN THE TUNES AND SONG TEXTURES B4 U DIS

  • the digital distortion is too accurate : mathematical.

The analog one is more complex and cant be imitated period.

  • your decks must be broke

  • there is not a such thing as crappy equipment.

you the dj make the equipment work for you not you work for the equipment

  • learn to scratch dude! and stop feckin' using Yeah by Usher!! Get a better taste in music!

  • I got some DZ1200 last week. I've been doing some wicked mixes on them ! why doesnt this guy just sell em if hes so unhappy with em, instead or goin on about how bad they are. I only beat match really but I can get the mixes tighter than on the sl1200's !

  • i have the 626 mixer with the dz1200 it work perfectly fine i been in the dejay scene for over twenty year or so it just what you choose to mix with you can tweek the dz out to do what you want mines dont sound like his but hey if thats what he thinks about them sell them to me i could use four more......

  • what a dumbass, those decks suck anyway...Nothing can beat the classic 1200,1210...goes on forever, love them!!

  • You'd think that if "Dj" Scandal was so unsatisfied with the DZ decks that he would have sold them a long time ago, and simply replaced them. But intead he keeps them so he can bullshit online and perhaps get paid a few bucks by either Pioneer and/or Denon. Then there's this reposter dude, who clearly is also another broke ass trying to make a few bucks off of Denon for his box of Donuts for breakfast (see nypdcar1's video where he's doing a demo at a hotel for Denon decks). Broke ass toy dj's.

  • he's not the only one dissatisfied, many people are

the buttomline is the sldz 1200 is not the best choise for cd dj's and a big disappointment for the true technics fans.

nothing beats the sl1200mk2 vinyl turntable

  • @sweepee123 there are 2 things that beat the sl1200 mk2: the mk5 and mk5g

  • To pay that much and to have to deal with a faulty product would make me go crazy. I'm sorry you have to deal with that man. good luck getting your money back.

  • this jackass has a broken deck. technics rule!!!!!!!!!

  • and i was wondering when u buy a mixer for it, does it matter what brand or can i be any mixer....like im planning to buy a Behringer DX626 Pro DJ Mixer if i buy the technics. is that a wise choice?

  • i just looked at it,its sooo plane bro, i kinda want something better looking and more to it....

  • so its good for beginners??

  • ok guys maybe u guys can help me. Im thinking about buying this item but i'v never bought turntables in my life ,and im a beginner should i buy this???

  • no dont buy thes crap buy better technics 1210 mk2 its the clasic and the best

  • technics 1210 m5g is the best in the world

  • the question is...have you tried other songs?...

  • yeah i agree

  • You don't know how to use them you are not a dj to much fake dj in this generation

  • Look out for the denon 3700

  • give it a rest jackass... you dont even know how to work the damned things... the only thing your gay tables have is they can scratch with key lock on... check out Sensei Haus and see for yourself why they are the best tables on the market... go sit in your corner you fuckin dunce!!!

  • the problem is easy stop playing fucking Usher!

  • he put da damn effects on, why da hell all dese folks tryna discourage folks from buyin da best right now digital turntables

  • they all make that sound why not just go get a regular pair of 1200's ????

  • u put the effcts on stupid

  • SURELEY you set the wrong speed, it is clearly observable at the end , the denon, had a faster "vinyl" speed

  • use these decks for beat matching, and nothing else. Its not supposed to compete with a Real 1210,but i guess its good for djing, theyd be perfect for doing a house/techno whatever mix.but not for turntablists or scratch dj's...

Not a chance, what year were these products released? they might have been released when "vinyl emulation " was in the early stages........

  • This guy is a clown. So what if the DZs can't scratch with pitch lock? Check out the Sensei Haus videos and see how "bad" these babies scratch. Trust me I have tried them all and Pios are loved sctrictly because the only thing left for them to do is mix while you sit at the bar.

  • Yeah ok!!! The pioneers cdj-1000's are 100 times better that this junk. This piece of shit doesnt come close to even a cdj-200 pioneer.

  • Pioneers are for pussy dj the technic's are better then all those cd turntables if they dindn't mess up on loading time and the pitch lock they would have been on top.

    I tried alL.

But the truth is its 2009 and denon is the best.

    Look out for the 3700.

  • cdj 400 is beter... :))

  • And it worked...because people are easily persuaded these days instead of trying something for themselves.

If you TRY ONE FOR YOURSELF you'll see that you've been missing out on the best digital turntables ever made because you've been listening to "Haters".

I wish I never listened to other people I should have bought these Technics decks 2 years ago. I can finally scratch again. Nuff said.

    (story end)

Dedicated to all the DJ's like myself who DESERVE to know the truth.

    The Spindocta.

  • A True TECHNICS Story: By DJ Spindocta

I recently bought a pair of SL-DZ1200's and got rid of my Pioneers on ebay

The Technics have a better sound quality than all of these turntables put together but there has been a major "propaganda" campaign against them (eg. like this video) since they came out on the market because Technics has been the leader in the industry for so long that competitive companies did they're best to bash them.

    (story continues...)

  • O.k., so the sound like crap playing c.d's; but who does that anymore? They work fine on serato. I'm still a fan of direct drive mk1200's but they are bulky and kind of outdated. I have not had this problem with the sldz-1200's and digital files from serato.

  • @thespindocta There is absolutely no excuse for that sound to come out of a professional CD turntable. Sorry man. So how to you explain the issue with pitch lock? Technics discontinued these things way to early. Would be a sick table if they fixed these issues. It sure looks sick...

  • okie so we get it sounds like sheit, and to digital 2 be spin'n on but, why do ppl keep buy'n them spend g's on these ?

  • I have the Technic CD turntables! I've been spinning vinyl since 1990 then bought the Technics when they came out. The "pitch lock" is just like what dude describes in the video... but I consider using pitch lock as cheatin. On occassion I have heard a little digital simulation sounds with the pitch lock off. But all in all I'm satified with them. But now with Serato out...I'm switch back to real 1200s and using Serato with them.

  • pioneer cdj400 pwn theese

  • Why does everyone use this song as the example. I think there's something wrong with this song.

  • he makes it sound like a fucked up video game

  • did u have to take 6:00 minutes to get the point through? Thats just overexxaggeratin man.

  • You have try to change the cd with one original XD?????

  • I agree. Vinyl here of 10 years. This guy is a complete noob ! Even on vinyl your going to get that nasty sound from the record on how it's recorded.

I also here the digital distortion ok? So guess what it's a digital cd player wow!

This guy suxs anyhow. He couldn't beat match even if he had pc dj doing the work.

  • And it worked...because people are easily persuaded these days instead of trying something for themselves.

If you try one for yourself you'll see that you've been missing out on the best digital turntables ever made because you've been listening to "Haters".

  • Everybody know that Technics have been the industry standard for decades! Its a shame that this dj actually thinks that no one can hear the effect that he is using on his output! Damn homeboy is Pioneer that desperate that they have hire someone that can't scratch to try and discredit the INDUSTRY GIANT! DAMN HIP HOP IS TRULY IN TROUBLE WITH ALL THESE WANNA B DJ'S DISRESPECTING THE CULTURE! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO USE THEM THAT'S UR DECISION! TECHNICS ARE THE BEST!!! EVERYTHING ELSE IS A CLONE!!!

  • No.1 Technics!!!!!!!!

  • No.1 Technics!!!!!!!!

  • No.1 Technics!!!!!!!!

  • si los sabes usar van mejore ke muchos otrosn platos de cd ahora komo te pongas a buscarles fallos vas a encuentrar muchos logicamente no es un vinilo es un simple cd

  • everyone knows the technics turntables are the worst, I don't think any of you guys have ever used one if you think they are good because if you did you wouldn't simple as that.

  • its cuz u have effects on

  • its the song ure using

  • If you wanna scratch Play Vinyl You twat!

  • and that goes to everything they do, not just cd decks. for fuck's sake, technics even sound better if you just let it play

  • I ain't never DJ-ed before and I can tell you technics is the last brand you can associate distortion with

  • im sorry but you dont kno what the fuck your talkin about..i kno somebody who had a pair of those and was good as fuck and it never sounded like that..im a beginner at it and i still sound better than that shit

  • "still sounds like an old nintendo game" - thats cause ur playing a different part of the bloody song. you didn't play the bell sound once on the other deck, but you ONLY used the bell sound on the technics. you're a dj man, you know that you're choosing different parts. WE KNOW TOO, SO GL TRYING TO GET ANYONE TO BELIEVE YOU

  • I used the technics and they are great for scratching, they sound perfect, I think this guy had the effects ON...haha, Dj Scandal...LOL the name is fitting at least.

  • Oh and btw this dj scandal messed with a few details to make this video possible, I imagine he's a terrified Pioneer employee, BUT THE TRUTH IS FINALLY COMING OUT DJ SCANDAL, you might have brainwashed people with this for a while, BUT ANYONE WHO HAS ACTUALLY TRIED ONE KNOWS THE TRUTH NOW SUCKER. TECHNICS SLDZ #1.

  • I recently bought a pair of SL-DZ1200's and got rid of my pioneers on ebay. wish I never listened to other people I should have bought these technics decks 2 years ago. I can finally scratch again. Nuff said.

  • It would help if you used the same sample point on each deck, they sample at that point on the technics slowed down sounds like digital distortion you muppet!!! I'm not saying their perfect but crap like this doesn't help anyone.

  • he is

  • To replicate this you need to use a 128kbps mp3, the mp3 sounded bad quality in the first place. I've had my technics for ages and never heard this digital distortion, but then i wouldnt play out with 128kpbs mp3's, i'd rather have something of decent quality.

  • i have used both and also found a difference in the sound the technis does sound more digital

  • yeah that does seem right

    they are high quality turntables

and he only sctracted it on when the bell sound

playd so its gonna sound like dsigital distortion and he does use them and when he uses them to show how good they are they dont make digital disortion

    these are lies lies lies

  • new firmware is possible to correct this ?

  • pete aprende a uar una techics capomaster

  • I don't beleve you. That track you're playing contains some kinda ringing bell, and on the Technics, you always stop and scratch it slowly at that bell, so OF COURSE it sounds like digital sound, but in fact it's a high frequency bell sound, which will sound exactly the same on your Denon if you slowly scratch it. Also, on the Technics you ALWAYS scratch slowly, and on the Denon you scratch faster.

And that key lock thing is just doing it's job, not changing the key, also when scratching.

  • traditionalist

  • I dont get what ure trying to prove. The dennon made the same exact sound as the technic did. You just spun the dennon faster. Listen closely, and spin them at the same speed there is no difference in the sound...

  • ummm, hold up the dennon made the exact same sounds as the technics you just spun the dennon ffaster, listen carefully they sound the exact same! I dont know what ure trying to prove here.

  • i agree with vissionofsound

dont listen to what this guy is telling you

if DJ scandal is hating on them then why does he use them...

  • I greet the by-path d. J. In Romania... I have Pionner and Technics is incomparably what can do this Technics, the clarity of the sound is away from all those platans... This dj his scandals with call it is away from his truthes has problems with the ears...

  • I greet the by-path d. J. In Romania... I have Pionner and Technics is incomparably what can do this Technics, the clarity of the sound is away from all those platans... This dj his scandals with call it is away from his truthes has problems with the ears...

  • well ive seen alot about the 1200s and ive been djing since i was 14 and im 33 now and real djs that used the real 12s didnt have pitch lock and we dont use it now.

  • i have numark cdxs', a pair of technic 1200s' and i just bought a pair of dz1200s' but, you gotta get the sensei haus vinyls to fix the problem. check the videos yourself. ive experience them myself and its an awsome product. this guy uploading hater vids on dz1200 is outta date. technics has always been the best and still is.

  • nice vid! needed to kno tht before i actually bought one!

  • you dont know how fucking right you are about this. I thought i was actually gonna buy one... dum ass me. you rock i wanna see vids of u dj ing with your other ones. Thanks for sharing with tha world how shitty these things are. PEACE!

  • well what can i tell u there shit! i wouldt piss on them if i got payed to there a pile ov wank! so just get cdj 1000! and gett summet worth ur money not 20billion£ for shit!! =]

  • This video by DJ Scandal has been re-populated all over YouTube by various users, including Glassball. Do a video search for pdhpro111 and you will see much better demos.

  • Just update your fuckin' firmware...

  • Ive owned a dz cdj for 2 yrs & Its fine for mixing but it really does sound synthetic & modulated when scratching. If you execute a scratch you physically alter the pitch / key of the sound & its very audible when scratching MUSIC quickly or slowly on digital audio equipment..But many dz cdj vids only focus on scratching vocal samples or sound fx which can disguise the pitch/key change issues & it sounds even worse with mp3. Thanks for uploading & enduring the ignorance

  • just buy some record players for christ sake

  • Its weird that there are at least 15 other vids on YouTube showing people using the SL-DZ1200's and they all work perfectly fine.

    WASUPWITDAT?!

Search for yourself if you dont believe me.

  • mp3s are for ipods & you tube videos.

Vinyls are for the clubs & quality home systems!

  • three vids later and your still playing rubish music, move on sir, plus the dns3500 is loads better then the 3000. Best to fit 10 inch vinyl platters to your sldz and enjoy it otherwise sell it to someone you knows what their doing

  • i have to tell the truth even my Vestax CDX 05 doesnt distort like that shit .

  • Please check out my video's everyone and you'll see that the SL-DZ1200 is the best CDJ on the planet.

This guy purposely recorded a low bit rate to sabotage.

I feel sorry for all the people who have been missing out on the SL-DZ1200 because they've been listening to haters.

  • yo butt munch you had the instant change button pressed, if you are looking for faults you can find them in anything, fact of the matter is these tables can do things none of the others can, including the original 1200's. When I buy a pair of CDJ's I do not expect them to sound like vinyl. what a stupid video! I can't believe you wasted your time in producing and posting something so stupid

  • You should be ashamed abusing you SL by playing USHER!!!! I'm supprised the deck didnt kick you in the teeth and sh1t in your slippers!!!

  • Forgot all this digital Shit!!

Use analogue Turntable deck's or let it be.

  • great video, you show all the truth

  • dOOd, no offense and all, but you should see the backpanel of da SL-DZ1200. See the switch of CDJ/turntable? Try to use it as a turntable... Good luck for the user's manual to Denon Fun Club...LOL

    Long Live Technics!

  • d00d, no offence and all, but at the backpanel of the SL-DZ1200, there's a little switch, what you forgot to mention... Maybe you used it as a CDJ, not a turntable. Good luck for the user's manual to Denon Fun Club...

    Long Live Technics!

  • Sorry man, you are using a bad recording. When downloading music, make sure to have good quality ;-) The Technics is state of the art - you can put a million dissing videos to the web. Real DJ's use TECHNICS SL DZ 1200. Hahahahaha!!!

  • yea but the sl dz 1200 has a horride digital interferance when scratching

and dats alrite quality, prefer good old vinyls though me

  • OMG! It has nothing to do with bad quality music! The Technincs SL DZ1200 is a crappy machine

  • Try one your self and you'll see the only reason why it has mixed reviews, is because everyone wants to hate the top dog... Technics was the analog King, and nooo wayyy all the pioneer dj's out there wanted the DZ to have the Digital Crown but it does. Peace!

  • That "digital" sound is exactly the same sound that TURNTABLES MAKE!! This idiot compares the Tecinics to NON-Vinal products. Take this video down, it's irrelevant and un-educating.

  • uh... no it doesn't. i have both the pioneer and denon cdj's and they are NO WAY as horible sounding than this. they sound very close to vinyl

  • Yeah the quality of your CD plays a big part of your scratch sound. SL-DZ12's aren't for everyone just fans of Vinyl. You love your 1200's then you'll love your DZ1200. So many people hate on the Technics but I really still to this day don't know why,

  • or, you can jsut stop buying CDJ's then buy a laptop, and Virtual DJ. If your a hip hop dj, use turntables. Dont waste your money on expensive CDJ's when you can use a PC, LOOOOL.

Then you just download your song's, and your ready to go. It must the older generation?!?!

  • it must be your cdj, not everyone elses theres wrong

  • I know for sure it's the bitrate... I've 2 Technics SL-1200's and 2 Technics DZ-1200's.3 Weeks ago i went to a record store and bought a vinyl single and a cd single from the same artist with the same mixes. I tried them and i can't tell the difference between them...

So scandal you're a scandal to yourself :)

BTW i will make a video and post it on youtube

    Greetzzz Da***Neo***

  • Alot of people don't know about the firmware update that Technics made over 2 years ago for these, you can just download it. DJ Scandal forgot to mention this, with all the work he put into dissin the DZ in his video's, It's obvious that he's an employee from another company, all the bad hype about the DZ's is pure propaganda, try them for yourself. and you'll see that you've been missing out because you've been listening to "haters".

  • he's not the only one, thousands of people are dissapointed with the sl-dz,why is every club in the world using pioneer cdj and technics analog turntables? go figure...

  • I used these cd players every week, at a local club I dj @ and they dont sound like that at all, also if your a dj that uses Serato Scratch or some other dj program, then you wont have to worry cause the sound comes from the box not the cd player

  • Try changing the soft.:) i just did that and my player`s work fine

  • Propaganda, SL-dz1200's are the best CDJ out there.

  • do you even know how to scratch? get some real scratch samples and than talk shit!!

  • my frien: please buy a sl 1200 mk2 :)

  • thats is horrible, man!!! 320kbs please

  • Wow, nerd.

  • I blame the bitrate to, try with a 320 kbps now or even better with a 1500+ kbps track(studio quality)

download them on trackitdown . com

  • Do you have the updated firmware 2.3?

  • The DZ is really the best CDJ on the market. Go to your local music store, try every CDJ for yourself, in the end your #1 choice will be the Technics SL-DZ1200 you'll see. This video is pure propaganda.

  • this guys a loser

  • this guy's an idiot, he's done something to the turntable cause they really don't do that

  • Hi, This video is propaganda, the DZ is really the best CDJ on the market. Go to your local music store, try every CDJ for yourself, in the end your #1 choice will be the Technics SL-DZ1200 you'll see.

  • He's made this video to address some of the written responses made to the original clip. For example, he shows that the vinyl sim option is turned on. If it is a low bitrate MP3 then it still shows a problem with the firmware on the deck. There's no excuse for that awful sound being produced by the Technics deck. Perhaps the next video will provide more information about the CD content or perhaps use an original CD, but regardless of the source it is clear that other decks perform better.

  • er...ah..maybe I'm dumb but...doesn't it just sound like a lowbit mp3 in general so thats why the scratching sounds like this? and I notice in his over vids ALL the cd players sounded like shit so, yah I blame the ghetto cd he used lmao

  • lol, leave it alone hes puting so much damm effort on trying to make it look bad, but the ones that own technics, we dont really have the need, to go around, doing retard and childish stuff, and proving ohhh looook my shittt is better, cause we know our player and we know what is capable of, so keep doing your thing dj scandal shit.... and by the way you really have problems if you go around mixing usher, damm i just feel sorry for you bye byee :)

  • Hey dude... you already have made your point on your first movie, and now you have got three already. Why dont you just buy the newest software for the sl dz 1200??? if you do that... broblem solled(Y)

  • DENON 4 live Baby !!! I love my's s350k
