great looking snake. Does she ever get aggressive when the dogs are around? planning on getting one in the future but not sure if thats a good idea since I have two daschunds
@LambosRBeast When about to shed with eyes fogged over she'd get a little hissy if disturbed in the cage but wouldn't bite and was fine to pick up and hold. Never hissed outside of the cage.
Will these get big enough to eat children because I'm not comfitable with snakes that eat children (UNLESS ONE KID HAD F*CKED UP AN INNOCIENT KID'S LIFE)
@Dakkiller1 it could hurt them if it bit them on the face. but no they really couldn't even eat a child say 3 years old. it might be possible for the largest of them. but they don't really eat HUGE meals. rule of thumb tho don't leave your children in a room with it. ALTHOUGH they are deceptively strong so if it could get around its neck or lungs the child would be in some big trouble.
@Dakkiller1 No a jungle carpet python would not get large enough to eat a child, I'd guess an abnormally large specimen of a different subspecies could MAYBE get an infant down and it is possible for really any medium-large constrictor to kill(not necessarily eat) a small child by constricting around the head/neck/chest.
That said - anyone who has a small child/infant unattended around a large snake is an idiot and would probably accidentally kill their kid somehow regardless of having a snake
@OhDaDaDaBreakdown I got bit by her once during feeding, she'd just finished swallowing her meal and was still in feeding 'mode' and got a good strike at my hand, entirely my fault. It didn't hurt at all but bled like crazy, the teeth are ridiculously sharp and just looked like pinpricks in the shape of her mouth once it stopped bleeding.
@derelict92 I got mine from a breeder I found through the classified ads at kingsnake (dot) com - That's a good place to check for any kind of reptile you're interested in.
Damn she is gorgeous nice high yellow and jet black coloring. cool how she didnt even react to the dogs sticking there faces at her. I noticed Sir even jumped back at one point when she moved towards it haha.
