I´m Portuguese (born in Mozambique) and all my life I´ve been handling cattle. All bulls will react to strong colors (not just the red, but also the yellow, purple, pink, etc).

Don´t know anything about your major in animal husbandry, but I do know bulls.. Odds will be that he will charge on what he sees moving.

There are different reactions of course, but the spanish fighting breed is not a specie (don´t know the right term - my major is in pharmacy). Anyway, there are Iberian bulls, there is even a more calm kind of bull breeded in Portugal, not used for "bull fighting". Even those calm animals, will charge at you (you´re invited to see for real those "calm bulls" reacting to strong colors and movement).

If belgian bulls don´t do that, perhaps they have been broken before. U can take a small male and keep it away from the fields, feeding and watering him, when he reaches a certain age, he will be familiar with humans, and he will know he´s depending on them, reacting accordingly. I can proove that to you, just come to Portugal and look for yourself.
