I know someone who got his son into the Stanford team. It takes a lot of smoozing and connections. He basically didn't do a whole lot at work. All he did was contacting coaches and crap.

@ribcat yes its the same everywhere. Even at the tennis club if u know people u play on the team even if they are not the best players

That's why i think it's "cheating" when colleges bring in foreign players just to play for their team.

The problem with foreign players are that they are taking away the few scholarships that the players who are born here could have got. The upside of foreign player is that it raises the level of competition in college tennis.
