hows the drive holding up? i heard there were some issues with this drive along with other sand force controlled drives. please let me know as i am in dyer need of an SSD for my iMac.
did you had any problems with fans and cooling system ? And once installed, did you had to do anything with s.m.a.r.t ? Cos from what i have been reading on the internet, SSD that is to be installed must be s.m.a.r.t varified ( or something ). Do you know anything about this ?
Im planning on buying iMac 27" i5 coz i7 imac is not available in my country. But the ssd option would cost me around 1200 us$. A ocz is costing me 350$ with installation. Im planning to use windows on it too. should i put the ssd. or it is a waste of money (I'll be using it for photo editing and games)
lmao you paid $150 for labor what a waste.. you could change it yourself fairly easy without voiding your warranty. oh well i like to keep my money well spent haha
I bought the same SSD but I'm having trouble finding someone who can offer the installation of this drive as simply as you described. Did you have to bring them the SATA cables and the new pressure mount to install the drive? My Apple Authorized Service Centre said that they're having problems finding the right components. Did you receive a specific detailed work order or list of components used in the installation?
Great Video!! I'm about to go the same way and install a 256GB SSD along my 2TB HDD. I read, that there could be some heat issues, or the SSD not "reporting" actual heat level and make the fan go "crazy". Have you encountered such an issue? Thanks.
