Nice realistic scenery. No excess structural clutter. The slant or angle of the turn makes it look real. Most turns on layouts are not slanted. However, why the tanker between the two lead units???
@GlenVerdugo Yes, sp 700 but it was placed at the rear of the consist to prevent damage to the car by buckling from the locomotives. SP modefied 5 GP40's to pull it (4 Cotton Belt's and one Southern Pacific)
@MPetrishen Yes you are right - found that fact out some time after I published the video. Still thinks it makes for a visually nice consist. If you have any leads on photos or data on how they ran SP 700 I'd be interested in seeing it.
@sirbustor espee.railfan.net has all the info you could possiblly want to know about Southern Pacific equipment (locomotive pictures, details, frieght cars, etc. just search sp 700
@GlenVerdugo Yes, they only had one, and it lacked MU cables, so it was always located at the end of the locomotive consist. BN operated theirs mid-consist, as they had MU connections. Otherwise, nicely done - subscribed!
Actually we do! Point is - La Mesa has an awesome layout that any of us would kill to have the space for. But this is an older club, and we do the best with what we have to work with.
Appreciate the kind response. It's a challenge trying to match the audio as accurately as possible, knowing full well people can hear the difference. Please check in periodically as I try to add more clips. Thanks.

Southern Pacific experimented briefly with a fuel tender to save on fuel costs and expand their range. I believe they only had one.
Thanks for the views and comments

Perhaps - but the GMRRC has been around alot longer. (since 1949) Plus we don't have the benefit of a bazillion square foot museum space.

that's a great job of looping sound from a real train (accurate too!) w/ a tape of a model train.
