Awesome! It's a who's who of the very best in the latin dancesport world. The bar was set very high this night. It was difficult to decide who was better. Each couple bought their A-game and left nothing to chance. I am sure each one of them was proud of what he or she accomplished. I could tell it was a very physically and mentally demanding night. My best to each of them.

@batucagum This was from the 2008 world championships (2 yrs ago) around September. Can't remember where it took place but given the announcer is speaking English I'm thinking an English speaking nation like UK or Australia but can't be sure.

Sorry about the 'idiots' part, but the Samba that we dance here is totaly different. I didnt know that category "latin dancesport samba" its very strange. A misture of zouk, chachacha, salsa... Let me tell you, why it is a samba... The brazilian samba is very, very different if you look the ballroom samba. Do you actually see any brazilian dancer here?! No! There are only European people, there aren`t even USA or Australian couples. So, can you understand now, how different is the style of the dancing. The ballroom samba is very modern dance, very changed. The original samba is the brazilian, but this here, I can say that: "The ballroom samba" is another kind of dance.

Let's try and find some common ground here. Do you agree that the music is samba? Or atleast the rhythm of this song? If yes, then the rest is nothing to argue or debate about. Different people interpret music differently and move accordingly. There is no said way of dancing a step (even in ballroom dancing there are different interpretations of the same step). So the samba here refers to the rhythm or music that they are dancing to. Let's just enjoy the performance, cheers!

look what i know for samba is very different , if go and type samba in google you find de origin of samba and here in youtube there are some musicians that could show what samba is all about.

to me is all about history but interpretations is about opinion...but opinion have points of views but not always represent the real thing. search and rechearch...

Accept that the Europeans took elements of your original samba style, transformed it to better fit the ballroom dance style and since then it has evolved during few decades into this. Nobody is claiming this is the "authentic Brazilian samba". Get over it, seriously.

You're right! I play the original samba with my dad somedays.. he learns me a lot! He has been in a "Escola de Samba" and I since I was little knew the true Samba! I'm now a ballroom dancer and in the beginning it was kind of confusing to me too! but I understand what the Europeans have done... They grabed only the basic rithme because to play the rest and imitate a good brasilian percussionist is too hard and made something out of it! No problem I guess... It's the ballroom samba... XD

The song is named "Move Dance Be Born" from my favorite 80's band "Yello". This song originated from their Zebra CD, however, this is a remix version of the song. I don't know where you would buy this remixed Samba version. Yello has some very interesting dance music. I always thought it would be a terrific competition music for some cheer or dance sports of some sort. Goodluck the right mix.
