ducati sounds boring??? what bike are you listening too? my friends have ninjas, cbrs, and R1s i am the only ducati that rides with them, and with my tremis i really stand out.
i love having a bike that doesnt sound like a high revving weed eater. the low growl at idle is nice but the @ 7K rpm + these babies ROAR!... anyone ever described a jap bike as "roaring"? ... didnt think so lol
exactly. before he got onto the first turn, he looked back and saw that rider. you can see him deliberately staying on the outside of the turn to let him by. no one blew past him, he's ruben xaus. what a dumb question
they will improve it and update it. what i'm saying is, those improvements won't be based on results of racing. But since most of aren't professional racers and we're just out there to have fun on the road and the occasional track day, who cares right? Anyway you should really open your eyes and see the rest of the world dude. With that kind of hatred in your heart, you're only selling yourself short and limiting yourself. Come out of your cave.
Actually it has more power than the R6. 848 dyno'd at 122bhp at 9600rpm. More than the current I4 600's. It's not in direct competition to the 600cc I4's. What you read was just marketing ploy to get people interested in this bike. It's better than the 600's in almost every way. The only thing is, a 800cc class doesn't exit in racing. which means ducati won't have any empirical data collected on the tracks from racers to properly improve on the 848
If you understand something about bikes you should know the difference in riding a bicilindric vs a quadricilindic bikes, is like drive an anterior vs rear traction car.
Sadly for you the world is not flat and straight, HPs aren't the only parameter in a bike.
you sure you're responding to me? what are you talking about? hahaha read my comments again because I don't think you understood me at all buddy. ciao
I agree with you mate. The 848 is meant for people who just want to ride and enjoy riding instead of trying to fit into a class and race. I also agree that because Ducati isn't racing their 848, they will not have any data from racing (WSB, BSB etc) to make upgrades to their future models. That is why it's called the rider's bike instead of racer's bike. But that is good since 90% of people who ride sport bikes do not race. Good point mate.
Thanks man. I'm glad someone understood my point. But if i might add to that, i think it's important even for people who don't race to have a bike that's tuned for racing because that's what we're paying for. for example, people who buy ferrari and porsche or whatever know that when they buy those cars, they're built for racing even though they will never race. for many people that's the whole point, owning and riding a race car/bike for the road. anyway i don't race but i do open track days
touche. plenty of people buy sports cars and crotch rockets because they want that exhilirating experience. and who will say we can't have it? as long as we pay for it with our own money, they have to keep making them because in the end, it's all about business.
I don't agree with you at all emmedics4. the difference between a V-twin and inline 4 is NOT the same as FWD and RWD cars. where are you getting this information from? you should think about this topic more before you try to correct someone else
terrible sound

i like the ducati 848 alot..
it looks great, great handling and enough power.. and it's pretty cheap for a ducati..
the only problem is, i really hate two-cilinder sound, it sounds so boring:(
so i'll just stick to japanese bikes
