"A' trains are still running 8th Avenue Express during normal hours in Brooklyn. Other times, "A" Trains runs as a local in Brooklyn.
The "C" Train was originally operating as, "the 8th Avenue Bronx Concourse Express", in the 1930's to early 1950's. The line was phased out for a long while. It re-appears as a 8th Avenue local when one of the original 8th Ave locals, "CC" , went out of service.
When A" Trains & "F" Trains operate on the 8th Avenue IND Route in Brooklyn, under Fulton Street, these trains alternate between each other running express or local between "Hoyt & Schemerhorn Street" in Downtown Brooklyn and "Euclid Avenue" East New York Brooklyn. when "F" Trains are temporarily re-routed from its "Coney Island Bound" route in Brooklyn it usually operate as a local or an express. "A" Trains operate as an express or local under Fulton Street when "F" Trains operate.
The "A" train, 8th Avenue Express, runs express in Brooklyn weekends as much as normal hours in Brooklyn. During late night hours, All "A" trains run local in Brooklyn. Sometimes, "F" trains alternate express and local service in Brooklyn during late night hours; eventhough "F" trains run between ConeyIsland via the Culver Line and 179 th Street Jamaica-Queens.
The "A" Train, 8th Avenue Express, is still running today. All "A" trains run local during late night hours in Brooklyn & Manhattan. Monday thru Friday during rush hours and normal hours, "A" trains run 8th Avenue Express in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
My pleasure... The "A" train, 8th Avenue Express, is always available to you...Duke Ellington & Billy Strahorn made the "A" train famous.
Check out information on the BMT 14th Street Canarsie Line which is known today as The "L" train & the IND Crosstown "GG" train, now known as the "G" train. If you wish, you may also ride the "E" train, 8th Avenue Queens Express. The "E" train, like the "A" train is an IND 8th Avenue Independent Subway Line..
Hello trainchugger53! You know what. I don't remember which Guitar of mine I used on this, but I think it was a Danelectro, plugged into my computer with StealthPlug, and run through AmpliTube 2 Live... I think... I made this a year ago. Of course, I was just hamming it up with that Balalaika for the video.
Thanks for the kind words, cha5. I also made a video of me doing "Chelsea Bridge." I realize that tune was written by Billy Strayhorn, but it would be part of the Ellington Band's material. Check it out, too, if you're interested. I've done other Jazz tunes, too, though I'm more of a "variety" channel than strictly Jazz. I certainly love Jazz!
I'm enjoying your channel so much! Hours of fine entertainment, and this is no exception! Absolutley marvellous stuff! Is there any thing you can't play? lol.
Thanks Ed! With all the work I put into so many of these videos, it sure is wonderful to get a comment like you just made. I appreciate it immensely! 8-)
I wonder if people realise how difficult it is to write Band arrangements. Yet Baron Bodine turns them out like shelling peas. You were born in the wrong era.
Andy, I would've loved, "musically speaking," to have been there in the Hot Jazz, Swing and Bebop eras. The musicianship of those people was astounding! The music had the excitement that later generations would bestow on Rock.
Hey Scott, a great, great Job,I liked your multi-instrumental arrangements, you're a great arranger man making it all sound crisp and fresh, liked your "Bazooki" guitar solo(very musical) and all this dedicated to me(and the Duke ofcourse) I would like to give you 12 stars on this one, very good and great sense of humor, greets Vic.
Thanks, Victor. Wouldn't it be great to meet those cats! The Balalaika "solo" was in the spirit of the other Indtrumentalists depicted in the video. I tried to make them look like they were playing this tune. LOL! I'm glad you liked the video! 8-)
Another great showcase for your multitude of musical talents Diesel & another fine video. One question, who's the handsome young man on upright bass at 01:18?
Hey Boots! That was me playing at the "Rodeo Bar" in NYC back in 2001. I was playing bass for "Moot Davis," an up & coming Honky-Tonk Singer-Songwriter. 8-)
I'm sad & heartbroken over it, but whatcha gonna do? It was probably some "hater," "music elitist," "person into a different kind of music," or "racist bigot." LOL... I'll get over being sad about it and life goes on... forcing a 8-)
DieselBodine, excuse me for possibly sounding inappropriate about my comment on that person that brought you down, but I totally agree. That was someone who had no appreciation for the hard work you did and couldn't see the genius in it. People can be strange at times on youtube. ((hugs))
I grew up listening to this music. My parents were of that generation and they loved Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Ella Fitzgerald. My dad would crank this music up so loud some days, you could hear it through the house and probably the neighbors could hear it too. LOL
This is a masterpiece Diesel. Truly a masterpiece. How you got to synchronize the tune with the actual movements of the musicians must have been painstakingly difficult. Brilliant! Just Brilliant!! A thousand stars.
Thanks, Rhonda. Calling it "a masterpiece" just tickles me pink (whatever that means!) I tried to get close with the synchronization... it's funny seeing the guys playing higher notes when the music is going into lower notes! LOL & 8-)
DieselBodine, if anyone can see it I could. My parents were such jazz fanatics and I can see you really did your homework. Wow ..still have to tell you this was something. Something very great. Fantastic job.
