Dexter is a good show and Michael C. Hall plays a wonderful serial killer, but man you gotta watch Breaking Bad. The show is on AMC and Bryan Cranston ( the dad from Malcolm in the Middle) is outstanding in it.

As far as I know, he has not said how many total will ultimately be released. The latest book is titled "Dexter Is Delicious". It is the 5th book so far and apparently contains cannibalism... Yum!

The first book: Darkly Dreaming Dexter, starts as the season 1 of the show does. But after that it gets diffrent.But they're still awesome books and imo, they have even better stories and humor than the show.

dynamite1324354 made a valid point. Michael C Hall is a great actor. He's little thoughts they've put into Dexter is such an awesome way to see how and what he thinks of when something happens. I gotta say, it's such a great experience, in movie/TV-way, how you get to follow the bad guy for once and see how he fights off the good guys. I gotta say Dexter has the best story I've ever seen, it's (and has everything) smart, intelligent, human, society-reflections.. It's just TOP-fucking-NOTCH.

Im in England, and Dexter aint that big over here, but I have to say that it is honestly the best thing i have ever seen, just so addictive. And I wasent aware of Michael C Hall as an actor but now i have seen his work, he really strikes me as supremely talented, he just has that little thing that make you gripped to what ever he says, not very common in actors nowadays.

It's sad that because Dexter has become so popular, the Emmy's and SAG Awards will likely never let him win what he deserves. He was amazing on Six Feet Under as well. Looking at both roles you can really see how amazing he is -- a true character actor.
