What speed? 2.8? either way, anyone who thinks amd sucks is retarded. This isn't their most powerful processor by far and it hardly broke a sweat. Imagine what an overclocked x6 can do :o
@latlonelyboyz i have no idea, i don't actually have one, i'm just comparing different models to decide which to go with for my future pc build, right now i'm looking at the phenom II X4 965be but i hear that they are coming out with new ones soon...
I have this cpu also and love it but this vid is misleading. Do your research and research some more. Till your eyes are dry. Great cpu though. 12 -18 year olds arent the best resource of information
yo u can overclock it to at least 3.4 on stock voltage its reall easy too and im gunna try to unlock mine when i get it jus look up how to overclock its real easy
Stock voltage is 1.35 (2.8Ghz). If you want it to run at 3.4Ghz the Voltage should be around 1.43. Try running Prime at 3.4Ghz 1.35V and you'll get a blue screen.
That sucks for you, man. My X4 945 can OC to 3.6 with 1.36v, with a locked multi. Although it can also run at 3GHz with 1.15v and 4.3GHz with 1.525v. The X3 720 gets pwned by its quad-core AM3 counterparts.
How does changing voltage work? is that does in bios or a program? If you can reply to me with a website or link on how overclocking works please msg. Also im a nub at this type of deal so im not bothering to do it yet... just seeing how to do it - thinking of getting this processor. Thanks in advance.
Overclocking is making the processor run more cycyles per second making it able to run programs faster. You can overclock more than a Ghz before you need to make a voltage change. The voltage is changed in your bios but if you bought your PC from a average store chances are your BIOS is locked and can't be unlocked.
I know :D I was being sarcastic, any modern PC can play Crysis, but people have trouble getting it into there head that there is a difference between "Playing Cryisis" and "Maxing Crysis"
Hey I'm considering of buying this Phenom or intel core 2 quad q8200. Which do you think will be better? I need your help cause I'm in a dilemma right now. Thanks.
Ok...intel is better know for power, but it comes at a price. For much much less, you can get this phenom and these things overclock like you wouldnt believe, and can get you id say 97% of the power of the core 2 quad, so go with this
I would recommend you the Phenom II because its a lot cheaper and contains 5-10% less power than an Intel i7 which you wont notice unless you are encoding vids or somethin like that. So go for the AMD
Ah shit, i made a phenom II system with a 23" screen for 1035.85 $ and the i7 i made costs the same thing, without the screen. and the screen was like 159 or something.
Watch my video on the Phenom II at my channel. That much more money for an i7 is not worth it. You will only save about 10-20 minutes on very large (2 hour+, 1080p) high definition videos when it comes to encoding. And on videos from 10-20 minutes, the difference would only be 2-3 minutes. Not enough to justify the price tag for the i7.
The Phenom II X4 955 is a beast of a processor and more than enough for your computing needs--and it won't break your wallet.
yea my ll x4 965 black edition can probably do double all this.

INTEL
Pro: Faster than AMD
Con: THE FUCKING PRICE IS A DEATH TOLL, KILLS YOUR WALLET
AMD
Pro: Affordable and it's awesome / badass
Con: It's slightly slower than intel CPUs, by a very small to an acceptable increment.

@DjMati9Archiwum
lol for something its called stock cooler lol..
stock coolers are there BECAUSE they can handle that kind of temps, if u oc ur cpu, then a stock cooler cant manage that kind of temperatures...
plz read something before saying this silly things

can´t wait for the future, the AMD fusion CPGPU´s
it will be AMDs K12 chip, probably 12-36 of them on one die, dependent what your are doing some of them will work as GPUs and other as CPUs

Ive thought about unlocking my 4th core in my phenom, ive seen the vids, but im scared to if it will break it..

you guys DO realize that the GPU is doing most of the work here NOT THE CPU right? lol... noobs.
kismo24 2 years ago 2
not necessarily, the GPU helps but the CPU is doing some and dont forget the RAM cuz i bet you that shit is eating the RAM up

haha i was just about to say that. at any instance this is an awesome processor to get. (: cheers AMD

Thanks for the video. I made up my mind now and am going to buy an AMD Phenom x3 720 BE. Seems like best performance per buck.

Ever tried to unlock your 4th core?
I'm not sure if I will, I've not even overclocked it.
I know a few people that got it to 3.8GHz 24/7 on the stock cooler.
I'm afraid I'll mess something up if possible, haha.

There´s no perfect CPU available on todays market, each CPU has its own pros and contras.
AMDs are good for gaming, Intels good for programms like encoding or simulation...which CPU is better for you depends of what you are doing
