I totally agree with you. I did take Accutane for 6 months. It did work, but I found the worst was peeling of the skin. The best thing I found to work was actually Coconut oil. There's a local soap company here in New Brunswick, Canada that makes chemical free soaps, many with coconut oil. If anyone want some more info on their products, I can't remember the name right off the bat, but they can send me an email at jdoiron(at)gmail(dot)com
if you want to keep acne grow a plant and rub it on your face for no reason.
I battled acne for years taking topical treatments and NONE worked until i was finally referred to a skin clinic and was put on roaccutane wich cleared my acne up completley.. Yes i had side effects but the side effects were worth having clear skin for!. Dont let this womans bullshit put you off or scare you.
Does anybody had problems of loosing hair???? I'im about to start an accutane treatement and I dont care a lot about the side effects exept the posibility to loose hair!!! I'made some research on the internet but I only found a statistic that sugest 13% of people who use accutane had lost hair and that in rare cases it persist even after stoping the treatement. I need help pleaseeeeeeeee
@jedioutcast100 I started about 15 days ago. My hair has gone dry, and starting lo look as if I have dandruff. It itches because of the dryness. The skin also peels. My advice is to ask the doctor if you could use some medicated shampoo. I use a generic one.
I agree with Biscay1 about the skin thinning. this is my fourth week on accutane and the dry skin isn't a problem just moisturize, but my lips are chapped as hell. What concerns me the most is that recently I've been getting cuts on my arms without even knowing, no pain or anything. I just look at my arms and there are thin cuts that actually scab over near the middle so they are actually deep enough to break the skin. Is this a serious threat?
I have been on Accutane for almost 6 months now. Im actually about to finish. My experience is, i think its worth every second. It definitely works. If you have any questions what so every please respond to this, I will tell you all the secrets on how to deal with accutane and dry lips and nose bleeds. :)
Hey man that's cool... I have been on accutane for 2 months now and I have like 2 pimples and just red marks. But there is a problem... I have been smoking like 2 cigarettes per day... Is smoking bad for accutane? can you smoke while ur on accutane? Reply if you kno. Thanks :D
No, its not harmful to your body. You may start to notice your skin becoming more sensitive though so watch out for that. (due to accutane not smoking) But anything that affects the liver will mess with your body. Such as drinking.
yo dude you probly wont see this but in about a week im gonna be on it... so you got any pointers or anything? it would be really appreciated man i dont really know what im in for here
well for what its worth, im taking 80mg a day and i get wasted with lots of tequila every weekend. i get no side effects, except depending on how early i take the pills it get drunk a little faster, so i wouldn't worry and i already don't have the best liver in the world
just try it and if you feel weird, then just don't drink
@jesusqueefs You won't necassarily feel it. It's complete chance whether or not you'll get really bad liver damage (seeing as there are too many variables to account for). That's why they say don't drink. You're chances are increased plenty to get some bad liver shit go down.
I honestly don't know why half of you are talking shit OVER THE INTERNET, grow up.
but anyway, i've been taking accutane for almost one month exactly. I f my dermologist isn't as dumb as she seems, the acne worses between the first and third month, after the third month it starts clearing up completly.
I'm not sure about if it ever comes back again, people have commented this saying it does come back, but does that happen for everyone? It's not worth it to stay on if it will come back
what a load of crap! I took a safely prescribed 9 month course of roacutane and yes, I agree the side effects are numerous but a lot of them are vanity related and they came at a much later dosage! I was on, near the end, 85 mg a day. I wouldnt use the word depressed, moody, yes but I am great now, have been ever since! sick of people dramatising the whole process!
You really haven't experienced Accutane, you were on it for 6 days, everything doesn't show up at once. You'll experiance the dryness around the second week, not just the lips. I can't believe you took it for 6 days, I hope you didn't have to pay much.
Ok, for everyone who is misinformed. Accutane is still on the market but as a generic. If you don't understand the concept of generics, let me explain. Accutane is a brand. The generic substitues the brand but it still made of the same components. Its like going to Walgreens and buying the Walgreens version of acetaminophen which is Tylenol. I am currently on accutane, but its generic version called amnesteem. So please read before posting something you're not even sure about.
u have no idea wat yur on about woman. omgggg u have absolutly no clue about roaccutane/accutane. u were on it for 6 fukin days. wtf are u trying to do. accutane saves ppls lives. its as simple as that. 6 days is nothing and not many side effects are gonna be felt in that time. hahaha. weirdooooo.
I DISAGREE COMPLETELY,i took Accutane/Roaccutane (the name here in Mexico is ORATANE),five years ago for 8 months, and my acne problem was back a year and a half after tooking it,and again almost 2 years ago, this time for a whole year, and ridiculously my acne was back 3 months later!! some months ago,my dermatologyst prescribed me Accutane for te third time, this time he wants me to take it for undefined time, and obviously i not spending money on anthibiotics that doesnt work on me,im27nowwithacn

ACCORDING TO ME WHO TOOK IT TWICE (first time for 8 months and later a whole year),WICH I ALREADY SAID,THATS WHAT DERMATOLIGST TOLD ME,ENOUGH FACTS FOR YOU?????
er no you couldnt be more wrong, I was prescribed accutane for 2-3 months and thats how long it takes to clear up servere acne. After that the function of your oil glands has been impaired and 70% of users will never get it again. I was fine for 8 years after but now its started to come back.
yeah i had a huge issue with the exercies thing. i swim three practices a day three and a half hours each so it was very annoying to get muscle pains. but hey its so worth it, my lips actually did not get that chapped so guys try it for sure.
it's no more expensive than the endless prescriptions for ineffective garbage. Easily combined with other options as well, so it's worth a shot I reckon.
soo ive got my blood tested once and my dermatologist said my levels were where they ideally should be..and i havent had to test again..i started my 3rd month a little bit ago and ive seen some improvements..i think its barely starting to work so we will see
I really like watching your videos btw lol i dunno why! hehe I think it's because when you're talking or commenting about products you're using, you are so damn convincing! I was considering using proactiv until I saw your blog so I'm now using Obagi and Roaccutane. You're great, keep up the good work!
started roaccutane about 3 weeks ago and the first week was good. i actually saw improvements..but after that..not so much lol everything got a bit worse..but its suppoused to do that so im not to scared of it just yet!
ahh dude im on antibiotics right now and proactive i don't have acne anymore but i do have larger pores so i think i might go on it like my sister did. do you get your blood drawn?
no actually i never did..maybe my first month is up on monday but he never really said anything about getting my blood drawn..which is weird because mostly everyone i know that has taken accutane has had blood drawn but not me
do you live in the US? because their is like some law that you have to get your blood drawn some retarded ass shit that pisses me off! i don't mind shots but i hate getting my blood anything going into the underside of my arm ahhh freaks me out!
yea i do live in the US..ill let you know for sure monday..im going to the dermatologist that day soo ill let you know..he never mentioned it..so i dunno..i thought it was illegal or something too
I am starting it in a month, cuz i'm required to take birth control pills for a month before, and i had to have one blood test before, and i have to have one more next month, and another one after that. so only 3 in total. it's not that bad, i had my first yesterday and i was expecting A LOT worse. there's no way around it, but if you really want your acne gone, you should do it.
yeah im really thinking about it. the only problem is one of the side effects is joint problems. im a really big tennis player and having joint problems could kill my game
Dude if you dont get tested your liver can frickin dissolve, or fail. This means death bro. I used to hate needles but i got over it, just do stuff which is painful and build a tolerance. Ive never liked cuts or puncture wounds, regardless of how painful they are compared to some stuff that hurt like balls! So its for your safety man.
i know dude but their has to be another way to check liver functions! not just blood test take like a poop sample from me or a piss test or something idk?? im not getting needles!! NEVER!!!
Dunno. My doctor prescribed minocyclin and a topical clindomycin cream called clindoxyl gel, together they've been working really well. I dont need to get blood tests with it.
I can prove it! It is driving me NUTS in the last days: depression, anxiety, mood swings, stress on my upper back... gosh, this totally is not me and sucks! I am now waiting for my derm to call me back after reading the mail i sent him last night. I have no personal reasons to be having all these sensations and i take no other medications, drugs, in any form. I am healthy and eat healthy. I am 52 kilos always, 1,69 mt in height and I am taking 20 mg twice a day.
You must be a fuckin idiot!!!! How the hell do you know shes anerexic how do you know shes not suffering from some other health issue or maybe shes just thin dumb ass
ive been on accutane for just over 2 weeks now and it did get worse, but i guess its suppose to...i just got one question..i bought this aloe vera plant from rona so i can put on my face for the redness and dryness...but when i ripped a leaf from the plant it just smelled sooo bad i almost puked...so i had to throw it out...is it suppose to stink like that?...plz answer bk...will very much appreciate it
I have taken accutane and would never under any circumstances recommend it to anyone. I have suffered horrendous side effects from this drug and i still have all of these side effects a year after stopping the drug. if you want more information feel free to message me. just PLZ dont take it. (this is honestly not as rare as you think)
my face is totally clear, always is these days (touch wood). my worry is my body acne. its the worst on my upper thighs and even bum sometimes :( lol *embarassing*, it is cystic..cos it hurrtss...but i shave/wax a fair bit as i am unfortunately a hairy...i still want to get rid of my cystic stuff though...it hurrttss..do you know any stuff that works besides accutane??..its not severe at all just gets worse with shaving/waxing....???
i figured that if your already prone to depression then accutane would just make it worse...i dont intend on commiting suicide and dont want to take the risk of running strange mental thoughts...plus, my doctor just put me on accutane..i felt really intimidated to say 'i dont really want to go on this'..anyway, i dont figure its a good idea in the mid of uni exams....
ok, i have not started accutane yet, after seeing your story and reading about more i dont think i will. first i guess i should say thankyou for the uploads...i mean, im already depressed with some stuff.
Ooh i wrote my comment on ur page before i saw this video!!lol so ignore the last part!i hated the stupid side effects!lol.i got depressed and had no idea why when i was taking it..that was probably the worst side effect i had.
by the way i subscibed to you fran and these videos really are a great thing you are doing, im sure they are much help to a lot of people out there and the information you give is endless, thanks again fran you are a wonderful person with a beautiful heart :) x
iv been on accutane over 2 weeks now and the effects it is having on me are awesome! not just my face clearing up from acne (and believe me i had bad acne!) but my confidence and self esteem have gone through the roof :) ive been a miserable wreck for the last 5 years or so and this medicine really has made me happy again, this maybe not the case for all people on accutane but in my case it has saved my life :) good luck to everyone whatever methods yuo are using. thanks fran for these vids :) x
i really enjoyed this video and think that you're a great person for dedicating your life to helping people with their acne, giving acne sufferers what a dermatologist doesn't. i have an appointment with my dermatologist in three days and i can't wait to ask him to prescribe me some accutane. i've tried EVERYTHING else and i'm ready to put up with ANYTHING to get rid of my acne.
Which would you prefer? Lumps on your face which makes you look horrible and permanently scars your skin, or a few side effects which are bound to occur? Id rather take roaccutane which I am doing. I get dry lips, my face is very sensitive to sunlight, but I look bloody fantastic! And I looked like a deformed freak before. Accutane, Roaccutine are the only long term solutions. Also, steam rooms at gyms are great for the skin.
Yeah, it all depends on how bad your skin is, for me it's so mild and people don't even notice it so not worth the side effects (I had way worse than just dry lips). That's good that you're not having much problems with it and it has a good result.
Hmm, I occasionaly get some cysts under my jawline, they're not so bad because they're hidden under there so difficult to see. And even though they stay around for AGES they they don't hurt after a couple of days and they just look like mosquito bites. It's hormonal so supplements usually keep them away if I'm not stressed, and the right pill will stop them from coming.
All over the face and back would be difficult, I can see how the side effects of accutane would have felt worth it :)
If anyone is considering taking this... check out my channel.

1.) Accutane does permanently thin your skin, making early age wrinkles happen.
2.) I got bloody noses every day, sometimes twice a day.
3.) Use "Aquaphor" to help with chapped lips, and use a qtip and put it inside your nose to help with bloody noses.

About the alcohol, I'm just finishing my 2nd week on the medication and I think the alcohol actually made me break out more if it's possible.

I have taken accutane and would never under any circumstances recommend it to anyone. I have suffered horrendous side effects from this drug and i still have all of these side effects a year after stopping the drug. if you want more information feel free to message me. just PLZ dont take it. (this is honestly not as rare as you think)

shut up kid...just shut the hell up...dont try to bring even more stress to all these people ...keep your stories to yourself.

i am really depressed from the drug right now

I think most people with any brains would trust a dermatologist any day over someone on youtube.

something not as strong as accutane with less side effects but still does the job.

my face is totally clear, always is these days (touch wood). my worry is my body acne. its the worst on my upper thighs and even bum sometimes :( lol *embarassing*, it is cystic..cos it hurrtss...but i shave/wax a fair bit as i am unfortunately a hairy...i still want to get rid of my cystic stuff though...it hurrttss..do you know any stuff that works besides accutane??..its not severe at all just gets worse with shaving/waxing....???
pachion8 3 years ago
i figured that if your already prone to depression then accutane would just make it worse...i dont intend on commiting suicide and dont want to take the risk of running strange mental thoughts...plus, my doctor just put me on accutane..i felt really intimidated to say 'i dont really want to go on this'..anyway, i dont figure its a good idea in the mid of uni exams....
pachion8 3 years ago
ok, i have not started accutane yet, after seeing your story and reading about more i dont think i will. first i guess i should say thankyou for the uploads...i mean, im already depressed with some stuff.

iv been on accutane over 2 weeks now and the effects it is having on me are awesome! not just my face clearing up from acne (and believe me i had bad acne!) but my confidence and self esteem have gone through the roof :) ive been a miserable wreck for the last 5 years or so and this medicine really has made me happy again, this maybe not the case for all people on accutane but in my case it has saved my life :) good luck to everyone whatever methods yuo are using. thanks fran for these vids :) x

i really enjoyed this video and think that you're a great person for dedicating your life to helping people with their acne, giving acne sufferers what a dermatologist doesn't. i have an appointment with my dermatologist in three days and i can't wait to ask him to prescribe me some accutane. i've tried EVERYTHING else and i'm ready to put up with ANYTHING to get rid of my acne.
steadyblazin209 3 years ago
Which would you prefer? Lumps on your face which makes you look horrible and permanently scars your skin, or a few side effects which are bound to occur? Id rather take roaccutane which I am doing. I get dry lips, my face is very sensitive to sunlight, but I look bloody fantastic! And I looked like a deformed freak before. Accutane, Roaccutine are the only long term solutions. Also, steam rooms at gyms are great for the skin.
CircleofShit 3 years ago
Yeah, it all depends on how bad your skin is, for me it's so mild and people don't even notice it so not worth the side effects (I had way worse than just dry lips). That's good that you're not having much problems with it and it has a good result.
highonhealth 3 years ago
Do you just have mild acne? I have cystic acne. Its horrible but then again Im so used to it, or was, having lumps all over my back chest and face.
CircleofShit 3 years ago
Hmm, I occasionaly get some cysts under my jawline, they're not so bad because they're hidden under there so difficult to see. And even though they stay around for AGES they they don't hurt after a couple of days and they just look like mosquito bites. It's hormonal so supplements usually keep them away if I'm not stressed, and the right pill will stop them from coming.
All over the face and back would be difficult, I can see how the side effects of accutane would have felt worth it :)

steam?...meaning saunas???
elenac87 3 years ago
Steam room and saunas, each are different. Try them, very good for your acne. I have cystic acne and it helps.
CircleofShit 3 years ago
how many times a week should i do the saunas i do them once in a while but probably not enough to see any results
brandondtheman 3 years ago
Couple of times a week wud be fine. Or every day if you have a gym membership that has a sauna or steam room.
