i have the same problem...i know exactly whats goin on ive opened my ps3 up and looked at what did what. and listened closely to the system. it dosent spinn the disc, if u hear like a tickn sound thats the laser tryn to read the disc... mine is doing the exact same thng.....
Hey i have the same exact problem with the same exact ps3. I opened it up and cleaned the lens and all but that didn't work. ima try to change the Lens InshaAllah. I'll let you know if that works if you want me to, msg me

apparently it isnt the lens but the motor itself... idk but i saw this video and Ima try wha tthe guy does see if by any miracle it works...

@globalasskickas it's either the lens, laser or the entire drive.
instead of trying to fix it, i sold mine for $80 and got another used one for $230.

@igbatious so do u think that i should do the same, sometimes the disc in the drive doesnt spin at all, which would be the cheapest soloution.

@globalasskickas if there's a repair shop nearby, they should be able to fix it for you. but, not sure, it's up to you.
