This Pas de deux is from the end of the 2nd act of the ballet. Tristan got seriously wounded in a battle;Isolde returns to him, but Tristan dies. Isolde dies of grief and they are forever united in heaven as the curtain closes.
Tristan is a ballet in two acts by Krysztof Pastor that was created for the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm, 2 years ago. It's based on the legend of Tristan&Isolde, the same as in Wagner's opera. It's a beautiful ballet and a beautiful love story.
Absolutely stunning.
I'd never have expected opera music to fit ballet so well - but it's perfect.
Bravo, bravo!

Isn't Tristan and Isolde danced by Svetlana Zakharova and Andrei Merkuriev?
I just saw this in Tokyo today. Beautiful..., this was the first time that I saw Svetlana as feminine; she's always so "princess" ;-)

Anastasia is a gorgeous dancer, but Denis blew her away! Especially in the coda! Just amazing dancing from both of them.
