No, they don't. They are decent at sparring, but first off they don't do tae kwon do, they just kick and say they do tae kwon do. I am a black belt in this art form, and from my view, I perceive that they don't hold true to the embodiment of Tae kwon do. Its tenets, nor its values. Plus, If you want to see the best of tae kwon do, watch forms competetions, thats real tae kwon do, its the art form, the discipline and the beauty and grace of this art. PS: USE YOUR HANDS, THIS ISNT FOOT TAG.

When taekwondo became an olympic sport in 2000, they made several rule changes to make it more appealing to viewers who are unfamiliar with it. The most important rule change was kicks to the head are worth 2 points and body shots are only worth 1.

Do this...look up "TAEKWONDO" in Wilkipedia and read the part that says "the art in general emphasizes kicks thrown from a mobile stance, employing the leg's greater reach and power (compared to the arm)." Well someone has some anger issues, I do have a black belt in this art form. I said taekwondo, but yes i know it is 3 words not one. From the way you respond to my post, I percieve you have low self esteem and then use arrogance/ignorance to make yourself seem superior therefore creating a self delusion of superiority. Please if you are going to respond to me, be respectful. Also, you are supposed to use your arms to block PLUS punching is very effective in sparrin, i used to spar.

I have studied martial arts over 30 years in Taekwondo and TangSoodo, My instructor is Grandmaster Kyongwon Ahn WTF 9th dan and I am a sixth dan, I have no problem with your passion for Steven Lopez or his great accomplishments, only that there should be respect shown towards the art and not use curse words or references. If you have been in the martial arts for a long period of time and taught properly you will surely not have a problem with this. Respectfully, Master D Terrell

I've been training in Japanese Jujutsu for 4 years, and I've been getting a stone cold lesson on respect for the traditional arts.

Maybe that's what some people need, in order to get that respect that seems to be lost.
