I used to pass this checkpoint daily, from 2002-2007 while I was studying at Birzeit Univ., sometimes those soldiers forced us to wait for more than 2 hrs,then they tell us simply to go home!!
for a whole semester I used to get out of my house at 6:00am to attend the class at 8:00am, and for another whole semester I lived in dorm in Birzeit and left my family to attend my classes even my house is only 10 minutes far from the University. those soldiers use all the ways that provoke Palestinians.
I stated that in my post, Israel is doing its best to provoke Palestinians, and then when they protest or throw stones,, etc they accuse them of terror!!!
we all want to live in peace, and we all need to stop violence.
Instead of tending sweetly to their home, instead of choosing a much more easy position which would be to let this kind of molesting and beating occuring in silence, these women wake up early in the morning to do the job the so-called journalists from the occidental press don't do. They wake up and play the role of the Righteous among Nations. But most important of all, these wonderful women are pointing to a terrible problem : there is something profoundly wrong and ill going on.
And if you love Israel, like these women and mothers certainly do more than you, take example on their courage.
These women, like all the activists, beautiful minds, palestinian, israeli or else, dream of a world where these kind of checkpoints would be unnecessary. But for this everybody must not only tend one ear, one eye, or break one eye for an eye, but support beautiful people. And hear them. Their silent cries.
I wish those checkpoints will not be necessary, that way those ppl wont be so haterd agianst israelis/jews society who has nothing to do with it except wanting to live without the horror called "Terrorism"!

Check out 2:12-2:21, it looks like humiliation. There was no point on ordering him to sit on the side, and then point a gun on him when he was unarmed, and wasen't causing any threat to the soldiers. About prisoners "Administrative detention" consist of deprieving a Palestinian man, woman or child (even aged 12 they are arrested) of any right. You don't know why you're arrested, you can't defend yourself and you can stay up to 6 monthes in jail. It's absolutely illegal as it's a door to arbitrary and evident Kafka like situation. After 6 monthes they let you out, and hop, again, after 3, 4 days, they use to arrest you again and you might go in prison for a new AD.

I don't see a problem here. The soldiers just did their job. They even stayed very calm when the others were insisting to shoot them.
If those people had stayed calm at the beginning, the check should have been done in a much shorter time.
And the driver didn't look to much beaten also. Maybe the publisher added some sounds to the movie...

Check out 2:12-2:21, it looks like humiliation. There was no point on ordering him to sit on the side, and then point a gun on him when he was unarmed, and wasen't causing any threat to the soldiers. Also holding the driver from noon until evening is disproportionate and also they most likely abused him there,since had the appearance of what they consider as Terroist i.e. a Arab with a beard.

anyway, this kind of "punishment" as they wrote, is nothing. if this is what makes you creep then I suggest u should go check other occupied / war zone countries. in those places they just shoot them in the place! u can't expect a soldier to do nothing while someone is swearing him, think of what u would do if you'll be in the same situation.

And yea, I know the situation with the prisoners... I was a prison guard myself for 5 years, I talked with those ppl allmost everyday.
and i'll tell u that, if Israel can put her own citizen behind bars for "Administrative detention", they sure can put their enemies too.

About prisoners "Administrative detention" consist of deprieving a Palestinian man, woman or child (even aged 12 they are arrested) of any right. You don't know why you're arrested, you can't defend yourself and you can stay up to 6 monthes in jail. It's absolutely illegal as it's a door to arbitrary and evident Kafka like situation. After 6 monthes they let you out, and hop, again, after 3, 4 days, they use to arrest you again and you might go in prison for a new AD.

You can't imagine Palestinian's Authority, whatever the authority, can really change anything alone. How long do you think the logical sadness seing nothing changes, can maintain the hope they had ? How long can palestinian side remain calm while Israel is still killing, arresting, bullying, stealing soil, destroying homes, and so on ?
