  • I kinda liked Steve earlier in my life. But when I saw and heard him picking away I was sold. He is fantastic. Love love love him.

  • Could be....I am by no means an expert.

  • Beautiful!

  • Something I could listen to all evening, sitting on the porch, watching the sun go down.

  • 2:21 Click to get to the music.

  • Get a new tripod plz

  • Steve is fantastic on the round axe.

  • Where did he get exposed to such classic bluegrass banjo? He has the real mountain feel for it but he's not from the Smoky Mountain places is he?

  • @KatrinaMess Steve Martin was born in Texas...but I don't think you need to be from Appalachia to be a great banjo player (Mike Seeger and Bela Fleck are both New Yorkers).

  • Takk fyri Steve :)

I enjoyed these 5 and some minutes...

    JOOP

  • The difference between a rocker & a bluegrasser? A rocker plays all night and never tunes, a bluegrasser tunes all night and never plays...

  • I just bought Rare Bird Alert. I am new to bluegrass, but I love it!!

  • What great tone that banjo has. What is it?

  • @Robin18us I'm not positive about what kind it is, not being a banjo expert really, But he usually plays a Deering......

  • @doninwv I took another look of that open back and to me the peg head looks like an OME.

  • @traildust32 !!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the input... As I said I *thought* he played Deerings usually.... I knew it was a bit different than the $400 Deering Goodtime banjos I see a lot! :-)

  • @doninwv If you look up another banjo player by the name of Mark Johnson he has the same model of banjo and is a good friend of Steves. I've heard he taught Steve alot of clawhammer style stuff and plays quite similar to this.

  • @traildust32 Yes, I'm familiar with Mark Johnson but not his particular instruments. I kinda like to listen to Mean Mary here on the 'Tube; she plays one of those 'cheap' Deerings.

  • that just blew me away!!!!!!!

  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Steve Martin at his creative best!

  • Yessss

  • Steve you should have done this along time ago I always wanted to hear you pick one!!!!
