  • We DO have the ability to end global poverty. Governments and multilateral organizations such as the WTO, IMF and the UN all have significant roles to play. Thus far, the roles they have chosen to play is to support the rich and ignore the poor. Society as a whole also has to play a role in this too. CONSUMERISM . . . The rich have to be willing to live to a lower standard of living. The rich need to live simply, so that others can simply live!!!

  • In my name, Lets not be Emu's and make Poverty History!

  • We will always have the poor, we will always have wars and rumors of war. The US is a great example of giving billions to poor, developing countries ... unfortunately most of the money only benefits the ruling party and friends. Look at the former leader of Egypt, 80 billions in assets? I did not know his job paid so well.... Only faith in Jesus Christ can help and give hope.

  • if our only hope is that all govts hear us, then we have no plan. what can we REALLY do to help? i want to know how i can dedicate my life to improving the quality of life for ppl. not jus feeding them for 3 months and leaving like some do.

Can NO ONE tell me how i can really help? what do i major in? who do i work with/for? what's the career title?

all i want to do is help ppl it shouldnt be this hard, if it were clearer how to help maybe ppl wouldnt be suffering!!!!

  • 3 people don't know how its to be poor.....

  • Obviously capitalism has failed, Earth's citizens must adopt a new system urgently.

  • @shonga69au1 what do you suppose

  • positive forces of the world .. GR8

also wee must do something to control world population like China. We must control pollution .. and go for a green world.

    ( Adnan, Bangladesh )

  • Before you can end poverty you must end the wars

  • @dirtyxdeeds Wars will never end. That's just the way we are wired: unfortunately...

  • @dirtyxdeeds With all the people in the world, we should be able to multitask :)

  • It's not impossible to end poverty and hunger, but than we have a really long way ahead of us. Worldwide, governments are the ones who could make a stand to help Africa. Not just one little group could suddenly send over one billion dollars because they won't have it! The governments have so much money but end up using it on these stupidest things. I would like to see an end, someday but soon.

  • Sergio Mendes and Mel B The Best!

    :p

  • go mel b!!!

  • I would like to use this video to show our church youth group.

"One Act of Random Kindness at a Time is How We Can Change The World"

  • Lol, there's never going to be an end for world hunger. African countries are way too corrupted and the only way to bring change is through war. Millions and millions are being sent to a few very rich politicians who keep buying weapons instead of food, medicine or education. Did you know the Chinese are currently enslaving people in Congo while their government approves it? Or that 50 africans died last month just so that China could get cheap minerals?

  • so nice

  • To end of world hunger for ever :

    LESS KIDS ---------BETTER LIFE

    the rest is meaningless

  • So you don't know that those people have 10 kids. 7 of them will die. and only three will stay to take care of their parents when they are too old to work. And do you think they would know that without the right education.

  • This isn't supposed to be the answer, this is supposed to be the trigger. They aren't saying that signing your name saves people, it's a start so that actual motivation for change is made.

  • poverty is just a comparison to current standards. By today's standards, everyone but the kings 500 years ago would've been dirt poor. Wow we sure have come a lot since then. Not to mention all animals are poor. Can't we learn to stay alive without needing money like them? Or should other people pay our ways through life?

  • The idea is to give them a platform to jump off of so they can start helping themselves. That's the strategy most NGOs propose. They are dying unnecessarily, so we want to help. That's all. No one's forcing anyone to do anything.

  • oxfam is a great organization!

  • Well one thing to end poverty is to give them birth control or teach that sex causes more people and that they should avoid it so they don't have to feed as many people and also teach them the more babies, the more poverty.

    Less people = Less money

Therefore we save money for other things like research to cure Cancer, AIDS/HIV, etc and ways to stop crime and other energy sources, since people refuse to drill for oil...

  • when you have paid 150k of your hard earned money in taxes I will care what these people have to say

  • While I generally try to do anything Scarlett Johansen asks of me, a concrete plan would involve infrastructure development to meet the logistic needs of such a bold endeavour and then you'll encounter the real problem, corruption. As long as the 'officials' in the cleptocracies that generally define governments in the developing world continue to take their unwarranted share and deposit it in the Cayman Islands, this whole thing is a pipe dream.

  • And that's why we should put enough pressure on the government to prevent that.

  • The governments can't do anything if they don't have a plan. Inspiration and demands are not enough. WHAT IS THE PLAN?????

  • @Fuchsia If you're interested, you can check out the UN website.

  • @Fuchsia there are a lots of new plans.. including sustainable economys, cooperative economies , and economies based on resources and not on money, the problem is not the lack of solutions, the problem is the richest people on the world just listen to 1% of what is sayed about this causes, including war, poverty , capitalism breackdown .. etc... so thats why howr society develops very slowly in this dirction.... rich peopl only listen to a fraction of what they showld. :(

  • More attention should be paid to curbing population growth in poor countries. With fewer people, the resources poor countires do have will go farther, the aid given by rich nations can go toward economic developement.

Immigration to first world nations should be curbed, stopping the "brain drain" taking needed skilled professionals from their homelands.

Compassion isnt enough, common sense is needed to alleviate poverty.

  • Dats rasiszm cuz you be knowin' all the poorest people are either black or close to black and telling them to stop having babies is RAZISIZSIM! More black poverty stricken fly covered bloated belly children the better.

Makes white liberals feel enormous satisfaction to see the human flotsam breed like the flies around their eyes.

  • I know you're being funny, but sadly, a lot of people would say what you just said in total seriousness.

I guess they think stating your goals, then signing your name is enough.

  • Ita a wonderful, moving, empowering film. I will use it to teach my classes with.

  • ....and they say teachers dont get paid enough. Hahaha, yeah right.

  • IN MY NAME
