@Ifeology: Find something better to do with your time than to try and convince me or anyone else that my poetry is problematic. Each comment proves that you have made no attempt to listen to or to interpret the true meaning of the poem. Your insults say more about your character than they can ever say about me, my talent, or my intellect.
@lilmarzet She's a beautiful writer but shows lack of knowledge of self and culture in this poem. If she only knew how damaging her appearance is to those who have taken on a life mission to teach our young people to love and embrace their natural hair and features. So many of us believe our natural hair is ugly and must be straightened. This poem made me throw up. How in this day and age can we stand up and defend our straightened heads? We are bamboozled. Far away from of God's design.
I saw her for the first time at Busboy and Poets last night and she is truly a beautiful soul! I look forward to seeing more of her talent

Rebecca has a quiet confidence and a gentle way of delivery when she recites. A refreshing change of pace
