I stayed at tranquillo backpackers when I was i n Santa Teresa last week and it was pretty cool, 11 dollars a night and close to the beach. Just a bunch of surfers hangin out. 6 bed dorm rooms.
I would recommend where we stayed! santa teresa/ mal pais area. But i know it's rainy season, so i'm not sure how it is. I would not go to tamarindo or jaco. Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed it.

we use to live there, now we are in Guanacaste working, but still own land next to sta teresa, in hermosa. isn't he the coolest dog?

I lived there for one year, I recomend Casa Cecilia, Raratonga or Cuesta Arriba. First one more expensive and last one cheaper.
