Just to let you know I have set up a playland arcade page on facebook. I have put some pictures from the early days of playland and of course this great video. thanks Jane mangino
well done. That place brings back some memories. I am not in college yet, but i live in state college and i remember always playing area 51 on home football game weekends. It is a shame it had to go.
My best UMK3 games were here, my love for World Class Bowling was born here, and when I think of South Park the pinball game, I'll always think of this place. We miss you, Playland.
Homecoming used to be the busiest day in Playland. It was so packed, I could barely move. Sadly, it was no longer that way in the past few years. I'm not suprised it died. Rest in peace.
Btw, where are all the crazy Dnd: Shadow's over Mystara players? Come out of hiding and play me on mame =P
I haven't made it to State College in several years so this is how I found out Playland is no more. Pulling tubes and going to Playland with a pocket full of quarters was a great way to spend a rainy day. I'm surprised to hear him say football weekends and Arts Fest aren't what they used to be... what's happening up there??

Great job Tyler. Where was Mia back when I was playing pinball. Always was a lack of unattached girls, other than that the perfect place to hang.

Truly a landmark arcade. I could retire on the quarters I dumped in playing H2H SF2, MK, etc.

Playland had something to do with my low GPA first semester Freshman year. I loved killing time at this place...damn.
