I work as a "customer care" rep at vzw. I think its rediculous that the reps who looked at the account got leave with pay. As far as using the word "hacking" I don't feel is appropriate. We can search by name or #. Calls are not viewable/hearable nor are the txt, emails or voice mail. Billing records are, but only times dates and #'s. As far as customer service: Some of you customers are very ungreatful for the things we do for you all. Give us a break and just say "thanks for helping me out!"

My best friend works with the dummies who hacked his account. She said she doesn't think they were trying to harm him or anything, they were just excited because they had the power to see "the president-elect's" cell phone account. The secret service came to the store and eveyrthing. Regardless, it was dumb, and my friend told me they've been suspended until further notice. It's an interesting story they'll have to tell to their kids in the future that's for sure.

They should be fired and criminal charges such as invasion of privacy, interference of a federal official, malicious intent to commit crimes against a federal official or just plain old records invasion should be filed. Most people complain about verizon's poor customer service or as the like to call it now "customer care", therefor the federal justice act should be initiated in this case. Fine the people $50,000 and we'll see who does it next time.

Do you honestly believe it would be fair to press criminal charges in Federal Court for an employee who simply had access to an account of a contacted service plan? The employees should be disciplined by Verizon to the maximum extent and Verizon should, if any, be the ones fined for violation of contract. Although I do support Verizon as having good customer service, (since my account was opened in 1994) I believe they should be held accountable.

How is it a hack if it were employees who "sneaked a peek" without authorization? A hack would involve some kind of security flaw exploit by an outsider such as the hacking of Yahoo accounts of a certain "governor".
