Oh, my bad. I was under the impression that people who work for big companies like Specialized can construct sentences with proper grammar and spelling and were born before 2002.
Wow, thanks for bringing up a comment I posted over a year ago. I've clearly been told by more helpful members of YouTube that DJ stands for dirt jump already, as well as the other stuff, I know a lot more about bikes than I did previously, and I now probably know more about bikes now than you do. So, go fuck yourself.
buy a single speed kit. that would be the best solution. or you could be ghetto and just take off the derailur and take a bunch of links out of the chain, and keep using the casette, but that would look ghetto and single speed kits are like $15 anyways
...i was asking washable table if he was getting a new hub or a single speed kit for his 2009 p2 cro-mo. the 2009 p2 cro-mo comes with gears, and he wanted to single speed it.
i wanted the p1 but ended up buying a hardrock sport .... but its all good ive conveted it to single speed and put marzoci bombers 130mm on .. halo rims .. and maxxi tiers lookin all good atm
no one keeps the gears because you'll smash off the derailur constantly if you ride street, especially if you do drive side pedal grinds. the breaks obstuct you from doing multiple bar spins and/or tail whips. taking off the gears and breaks also makes your bike lighter. also you are likley to bend your rotors wile riding street.
@Biscuitto dj is dirt jumping nd people take off brakes to become more fluent nd smooth anywhere cos dey cant stop before a jump if deyre scared so dey hav to it makes u push de limit
i got the 02 p1 is a creamy colour its old but still going and i love it its my first dirt jumper bike ive got a set of dmr moto tyres on it a set of rst forks front and back hydro brakes and a set of handle bars of a kona stab love it
i got a specialized p2 cromo in white lookin 2 get halo wheelsets probz go 24 run just a back brake n cut the bars dwn n wana get a smaller crankset 2 go wid the single speed im running ur bike looks gr8 bud nice 1
you clearly dont know much about bikes then, ow well. go read all the comments on this video, theres only one person who agrees with you, MBUK gave this bike a 10/10 so, seems to be a good bike, everyone thinks its good, so, fine, welcome to the real world lol
i agree with dieselsolo. this bike sucks....get a good one..specialized is way overpriced when you an get a better bike with better components on it. I
i got it after a bad crash with a car at 47mph, it was from the insurance, but any good bike shop will sell it, well, not anymore this is the 2008 version, but the 2009 one can be bought at most good bike shops.
new backwheel, decent length bars, good brake(rear, lose the front), tyres, new pedals, then it can be called a decent bike, hate if you like but when you do variation in your riding, this is what is needed to get the a nice ride.

wow, im a tool, I just looked at my bike and realized I switched the levers because it felt weird xD my bad. good choice in bikes though =] thats what Im riding
hey, seems like a bunch of haters on here, I have a Demo 8 for downhill, Gary Fisher for XC and I'm getting a P1 soon, nice bike, no matter what you do on it
well, better parts on p1 except tires. better tires on the p2 but worse parts. i would recommend the 2009 p1. that is perfect for a beginner bike with a beginner price. plus is will be good enough to follow you into your more professional riding. as as long as you don't mind the single speed its great for getting around. let me know what you choose!
I was looking last night on specialized. come and comparing the 08 p1, 08 p2 cromo, 09 p1, and 09 p2 cromo and the only differences that i found were that the p1s dont have rear derailleurs
so if you had the money for either of the 4 bikes, which one would you o for and just give a few reasons why (dont waste your time writing an essay like i did here)
keep in mind that this will be my everything bike, from campus riding at university to park and urban
well, as i have the 08 P1 i would have to say get my bike. ive been using for getting to school and around town. aswell as street and park. and dirt jumping. so i would say its fine. i recommend that.
well where do you live? i mean i live in england and i got mine for £500 and most good bike shops will have one. although, it might be a good idea to have a look at the 2009 version. although to be honest its the same lol, just a different design. but ye, tell me where about the world you are and ill see if i can find a place that sells them.

Well yeah, with me, I usually switch between 3 sprockets, so I use Speed 5, 10, and 15, but I'll stay on 15 alot, but I prefer having a geared bike, so I'm checking out the 09 P2. Also, I'm gonna do some racing along with dirt jumping, and race bikes are pointless for me.
the thing is, with a geared bike, when your dirt jumping it all rattles around and it can damage the gear system. plus the chain comes off all the time. i mean for racing ok, you might need gears but, it can go quite fast without gears. i mean the single spead on it, works out at, maybe gear 8 or 9. so your only 6 under 15. you can still go fast. i dunno man. its up to you, its hard to find a bike thats good for racing and jumping. if you want to jump get a p1.
(continuing the first comment) if you want to race. a cheap bike is a g2 agressor. i had one for a while and it was a dream. lovely bike. or just get some cheap all mountain bike. there good for racing, sturdy, geared, fast and full sus.
Did you get the 09 p2? i'm looking at it, looks sick, the only thing thats keeping me from getting it is that its forks only have 80mm, i want 100 >:(

well, for dirt jumping it is perfect, maybe a change of rims but it is really good as it is, i mean I've been using it stock and its fine. for street, its a little heavy for street but it still works fine. you just need to be a bit stronger lol
hey dude have this bike love it =] what sorta biking u do ? the only downside of it is the cranks have u had a prob with them yet if so how'd u fix them ty please reply
sweet bike dude! Im saving up money this summer to get one of the 2009 P3's... it looks amazing with the green rims and stuff... pretty much just a P1 with a lighter frame and a few upgraded components... and the rims don't bend as much haha.
thanks, hey i was wondering what the 1 gear thing is like? i know it'd be good for street and jumps but you reckon it could go downhill? like on a mtb track, thanks
I've got a Specialized Hard Rock Sport but I do mostly dirt jumping (not very well I might add) and the chain flaps away everytime I land. The bike feels a bit heavy. It's a great bike and it sure can take the abuse, but I should have gone for a straight dirt bike like the P1. It will be my next purchase for sure.
ye for dirt jumping the hard rock is not really the ideal frame or gear set up. the p1 is awesome and can handle all the abuse an all terrain mountain bike can.
take the front brake of obviously :/

not much really, just the color and, umm, ye i think the rims are slightly better.
greg4all3 2 years ago
Yeah the wheels mainly. Does teh wheels on your bike make that nice clicking sound?
velo50 2 years ago
they used to, but all bike that make the noise, eventually they loose it, the springs in the hubs bend down, and don't click as much after time.
greg4all3 2 years ago
Hmm fair enough. Cause im getting p1 09 in 2 weeks so just thought better wheels may = better quality
velo50 2 years ago
oh no, don't get me wrong, the tires are amazing, even if you pay £1000 for rims, they will still eventually loose the click.

thanks, hey i was wondering what the 1 gear thing is like? i know it'd be good for street and jumps but you reckon it could go downhill? like on a mtb track, thanks
dunno199 3 years ago
ye you could it just, well its not really the best for doing downhill, you really need a mtb bike for that.

The bike I should have bought :(
I've got a Specialized Hard Rock Sport but I do mostly dirt jumping (not very well I might add) and the chain flaps away everytime I land.
